  1. Yeah besides all the great info here and the fantastic knowledge and experience of all the great people of the forum. One of the members here -Dave- TK-6044 has done a YouTube documentary on the construction of an FX kit. It's really helpful find it here----- Have fun. -John
  2. Good luck Mike, with all these prayers, mine included, it should go well. -John
  3. I paid $4.25 last fill up. My Jeep is getting about 20 mpg. My wife gets 50 mpg in her Prius. That's an awesome car. Here's my latest Imperial requisition, the TK Scoot Much more practical than the old TK Transport. I think I have a white and black problem.
  4. How many of you guys have a pair of boots by dan111h2o? I got mine and they seem a little square in the toe. It might be the huge size I had to order for my feet.
  5. That is a nice looking helmet. What make is it?
  6. Yeah! That was fun. Long lines were part of the experience. I saw EP4 8 times that summer and it always was at least 4 hours in line. Had to be near the front.
  7. Hey Michelle, I'm about ready to do the same thing. Let us know how it goes. -John
  8. That's a great idea. There's probably enough room in there to mount them without the holes. I did something similar with a headset from a motorola 2-way radio and my motorcycle helmet. If you crack open the casing of these particular head phones the speaker is very flat. I slipped the speaker behind the helmet padding and secured them with a dab of hot glue. It was an easy way to add 2-way communication to a helmet. Have you seen those little ear boosters they sell on TV? Their probably mono.
  9. I'm 42........How'd that happen!!!! Also....do I dare say that I'm probably the youngest Grandpa in this place. 5 little stormtroopers in training.
  10. 1) How long have you been a fan of Star Wars? June 6th 1977. I was 11 years old. 2) What first made you a fan of the franchise/ I was a fan almost instantly after seeing it. I was up all night thinking about it. 3) What got you into costuming? My first costume was something resembling R2-D2. It was made out of a garbage can and a baby stroller. I stuffed myself inside and made beeping sounds until I almost passed out. That was one of many Star Wars costumes I made that summer in 77. It usually involved entertaining the younger kids in the neighborhood or re-enacting the movie in the front yard. 4) What function does the Internet play in being a fan? Although it's not required it sure puts an amazing amount of content and other fans at your fingertips. It was responsible in getting me back into costuming after a long attempt at being a so called normal person.
  11. It wasn't life altering but I had fun. Definitly wasn't in the same league as Raiders or Crusade.
  12. Good one! You could probably layer it under the red film. Put some space in-between the film and picture to get a little 3D effect. LOL....
  13. It has it's moments. Every time I get frustrated I crawl back to my office and remind myself that I'm having fun. Eric "DarkOne" has the noble job. My helmets off to you. There's no better job than helping children.
  14. Keep an eye out for R2D2s leg and a battle droid in the treasure room of Akator.
  15. I've been a game designer for International Game Technology for the last 16 years. For the last 7 years I've been designing Star Wars and Indiana Jones slot machines. Since I'm the lead designer I get my hands on just about everything that needs designing from signs, sculpts, glass (printed parts) to the video game content. I think I'm losing my mind because even though Star Wars stuff is my job I still can't get enough and now I'm building Stormtrooper armor. Having a blast though. Here's a little video about my machines. They almost do a good job. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-8898958788824333438
  16. Has anybody been able to contact JTB marketing group? They are listed as the agency with blocks of reserved rooms near the convention center in Chiba, on the Hyperspace website. My wife and I want to go but we are having trouble finding a decent travel package. Are you guys traveling from the states?
  17. Thanks Dave, The videos are really helping me out. You deserve a medal. -John (jgarrettg)
