  1. I'm selling an apartment in Spain... I wish I'd thought to bring my armor over there for a photoshoot!
  2. Lets all keep in mind that this dorky hobby of ours is for our love of Star Wars and our desire to be a part of it in some way. I take my hat off to anyone tackling a Rubies project as I too enjoy a challenge. Just as I appreciate a good set of modded FX armor or a pimped out MRCE. It's the time and effort that really counts for me, and as we all know it's that effort in assembling and strapping our armor that forms our right of passage into the 501st. Tom, I'd be proud to troop with you.
  3. I'd like to take this opportunity to suck-up to my GCO. Beautiful kit Walter! The most bestest I've ever seen!
  4. I'm 6'4", and my vintage 2001/2002 FX armor fits pretty well - with modifications. I had to cut my ab/cod and add an extension (hidden by the belt). Legs still pose a problem as they barely cover the top of the boots. Eh, whatcha gonna do? (sorry I can't post pictures here at work - can't access photobucket - but they're posted under my elite request)
  5. One of the few times our natural superiority actually comes in handy!
  6. Shore duty out of A school, then went Aircrew. AT, it's a tough decision to make at your age. And I certainly salute you for even considering it. Keep in mind that you'll most definitely relocate, and the pay will be low for the first few years. And if you have a family, consider whether you're willing to be away from them for extended periods of time. The Navy deploys far more often, and for longer periods than the Air Force. But you know this having come from a military family. And take advantage of that degree! An E with a degree is becoming much more commonplace (there are four of us in my command with BS/BA and 10 or so with AS/AA), but O would be the place to be - at 33. (As I'm reading this for editing, I noticed it rhymes) Whatever your decision, I wish you the best of luck!
  7. Go NAVY. 17 1/2 years and I've never been to the boat. Besides, remember the bumper sticker from the 70's: "Sailors Do It Better"?
  8. Everyone has their preferences, and some buckets just aren't made for everybody. Some may give you a bobble head look (think FX) and some may make you look like you've got a shrunken head on your shoulders (for me, the AP). I would suggest getting with some folks and trying on the various helmets so you can be sure what fits your head and looks right with your build. Personally, the budget MRCE (modded, of course) is my choice, as it's large enough for my huge grape but small enough that it looks right sitting on top of the armor. But that's me. Like I said, everyone has their favorites, but only you can determine what's right for you.
  9. Just a question: What color is the frown on your bucket? From the photos it appears black. It should be grey for ANH.
  10. Looking good! I have only two suggestions - the back bottom of your left thigh could be trimmed a little, and a general tightening up of the strapping may be helpful. Not that any of my suggestions would keep you from gaining ELITE status. Hope to see you on the ELITE page soon!
  11. Except for all the other fun things NMCI throws at it. It´s all for the greater good, I know, but it sure does make goofing off at work difficult!
  12. The special Microsoft "NMCI" version. Makes Vista look like a good product. <_<
  13. As Veterans Day approaches, I'd like to take a moment to thank the Active Duty and Military Veterans who have sacrificed on the behalf of others. And to our fellow troopers who are deployed around the globe - be safe out there on the tip of the spear, and return with honor. -inspain92, CPO USN Verd ori'shya beskar'gam. - "A warrior is more than (his) armor"
  14. Yeah, no doubt. "Aim for the back of his knees!" **EDIT** I mean I have the same problem, I'm 6'4".
  15. Congratulations! The grappling hook is sweet. Nice job!
  16. Looks great Thomas. Another fine soon-to-be Elite!
