I plan to be in armor most of the time. I think it is easier to walk in armor than to haul my carrier around. Besides, being in armor is cool. Of course, I can also sit in my armor, so restaurants are not a problem for me!

Vash, It depends on what he did to adjust it to himself. If the trimmed the armor, there is not much you can do to reverse the trimming. Generally adding height is not an issue per se, since it only increases the amount of "black" in between the leg and arm pieces. However, if your legs and/or arms are larger in circumference than his AND he glued his armor pieces, you may have a tough time squeezing into the parts. Sometimes a larger body will require some shimming of the parts, which is tough to do if they are glued together. If he used industrial strength velcro, then adding shims is easy. You should find out what his measurements are, whether he trimmed any of the armor, and how he assembled the arm and leg pieces (glue or velcro).

Yeah, go ahead and laugh, Chazz... I sometimes wear a black wetsuit instead of the lycra/spandex bodysuit, so I might as well use rubber gloves since my whole body is in rubber...

roflmao!!! dude! that was one of your funniest posts yet! -
I have used the lycra/spandex gloves, but as I am upgrading my "look" (thanks to all the great stuff being discussed here in the FISD!), I let Chazz talk me into getting some rubber gloves, but I have not trooped in them yet. I also have some nomex gloves on order too, since I am not sure how rubber gloves will feel when it is 90 degrees in the summer...

Hey Paul, congrats from me too! Sorry for the late post, but I was out of town for a long Easter weekend. Hope to meet you at C-IV... bring more baby pics! Too bad you won't be able to catch up on your sleep if you get there, though... there is just too much to do. But remember, if you have to nod off for a bit, just put the bucket on and no one will notice.

Hmmm... you got your bags before I got mine, so I would say that there is SOME favoritism here (since I had ordered mine first).
-
Ummm... maybe you two guys want to go private on this?
-
Yeah! It would be great to have trooper videos in one spot! Would love to be in one myself someday!

Hey, don't knock kids... They can grow up and troop with you! I have one who will be 18 next month! -
Yeah! Happy Birthday! Wishing you many more years of trooping and watching your dream continue to unfold and grow!

Ummm... Patches? My Legion jacket could really use this patch!
-
Wow! Totally first class! Worth the wait. Nice work!
-
I agree! THANKS, Paul!!! We really do appreciate the time and effort you and your team put into this!
-
True, but then there are also the Legion forums, and the Garrison forums, and email, and... and... This really has become a bone of contention with my wife. She says that I am worse than the kids!!!

You may not pick mine, since FX armor is fairly common, however since a couple are "studio quality" pics so I thought, what the heck... Email sent.

I say go for it! Even fighting troopers get pulled from the line for some R&R now and then!

Good point! I think for most guys, there will be a certain amount of pride that will make lots of "downlevel" costumes get upgraded without any coertion from the Legion at all. But for guys who have been trooping for years but just can't swing the upgrade costs, kicking them out of the Legion seems a little draconian. However, back on point, I think the thermal detinator should be required.

I use CAboots as well and have not had a size problem. I wear a size 14 and was elated when I found they actually carried this size. If anything, I find them a little tight, especially when putting them on and taking them off. But they are comfortable to wear all things considered. I have seen some troopers with leather boots (Cheng?) that look interesting, but they don't make them anymore.

Hey, that was GREAT! Was that the real DI for the parade? It was awesome that he was such a good sport to do this video!
-
OK. Bernard, what do you want to put on the line to back that up? Name your bet. My alma mater (Notre Dame) played (and lost) to both teams. I think Michigan is better this year. Let's get a serious bet going.

Hey, that's a great album of pics! What an awesome day! Hey Terrell, good luck to UM in the Rose bowl today! Kick those USC behinds!

The challenge with undergear is the logos that a lot of manufactures place brazenly on the gear. Usually the logo can be blacked out, but after a good washing (you DO wash your undergear, don't you?), the blackout needs to be re-applied. The problem with UnderArmor is that the logo is high on the back, which is visible under your TK armor. Sometimes you can find some "off-brands" similar to UnderArmor that don't have logos. I vary what I wear based on the weather, since Minnesota varies from humid 90s in the summer to zero (yes zero) in the late fall. I use a standard spandex two piece (the problem with a one piece is obvious for guys) for most troops, and layer a second set if it is colder and windy. (Keep in mind if you use a second set of insulation to NOT use cotton, since it absorbs moisture and will make you uncomfortable. You need a material that wicks, like you use in any outdoor sports, like skiing). For the REALLY cold days, I have two black smoothie wetsuits that I use: one is 2mm and the other 5mm. The black rubber really does hold the heat. My armor pieces seal with industrial strength velcro, which allows me to vary the thickness of my undergarments. If you are lucky enough to live in a more temperate climate, then you won't have as many hastles keeping comfortable. But remember, any time you stay in armor for a while, especially if you are active (vs. just standing around), you will generate a lot of heat. The natural heat from your body in armor will add warmth too. So don't OVERdress or you will be really uncomfortable. Good luck and good trooping!

V'Pier, I want to be there in the worst way, but alas I will be at home watching you on TV... Bernard, don't forget to fill us in on your other activities once they are de-classified...
