Shin armor. Hooks not working RS. Help
Bulldog44 replied to Vader1979's topic in ANH (Stunt and Hero)
You could also try repositioning the hooks/straps. try seeing if the elastic straps can be removed. carefully remove them and then affix to a deeper position. Positioned correctly, you should be able to pull the straps with a a bit of tension and hook them into the holes. they will stay put if so. Hope this helps. -

Thanks Brian. Time is my greatest hurdle. I wish I had more time to iron out the casting problems. The packaging stuff and manuals were worked on whenever I have a break at work or on my commute. I wish I did this stuff for a living, never gets boring! . I will be sure to add you as well to the list, appreciate your interest in the scope kits. -

While I wait for a few small parts to arrive I had a go at making some simple instructions for the scope kits to make it easy for the builder, especially identifying the parts and their proper location like the original scopes. I don't have a any CAD draw type software (or know how to use any properly) so I did it all in MS Publisher with a bit of help using Pixlr Editor online. Just need to go and buy some nice quality paper to print these on. Lots of fun making them but I learned how difficult of a job it is to make instructions simple enough to follow, not to mention the task of editing every time I decided to rename a part or use a different fastener. Hope it proves helpful. -
Nice kit parts! Look great. Robert makes some amazing casted parts. Dennis's counter is spot on too. Your blaster will be amazing! Hoping to rollout some scope kits soon. Just waiting on some parts to arrive for the fasteners and lenses. Hope my scopes compare in quality, trying to get the best casts possible with out using a pressure chamber.
Looking forward to your build as it progresses.

Brian.

Awesome! Ready to hit the cantina! -
It would be interesting to see what actually UPS has to say about this. I understand the girth of packages can sometimes hike the rates higher but items like the vest are not that big or heavy. For $61.00 shipped in the US, it sounds well out of line with real shipping costs. I could be wrong but just seems crazy for domestic rates. Oh, and then I went use my $25.00 gift coupon and said I didn't have enough in my basket to use it when purchasing. What? Could not find how much the minimum to spend on their site. Coupon expired yesterday.... Move along.

Is it me or are the shipping options for Anovos way out of control? I tried ordering athe artillery vest but basic shipping was almost half the cost of the actual product, $61.00 about just to My NY address. Anovos mailed me back saying it has to do with the size of the package its coming in , etc. vest costs $125.00.

I doubt that vest is that large to ship or even that heavy. Seems like either UPS is screwing them over if that is the case. I have had a backpack frame insured shipped from the UK to Japan for the same price as their shipping fee. Something isn't right.

Wow. Looks amazing! Spot on!

Cool. Definitely as Darthcue said, a kit would be great!

This is amazing! The craftsmanship is impeccable. I hope you continue making these. I would surely like to have one. Congrats!

I posted a while back about the tent bag I bought from the UK. It was cheap and easy to rig up. Just need to recreate the seam lines at the ends to get it more accurate. Length of the bag and girth is really close. Sewing canvas is not easy without a proper machine so I went with the tent bag. Color looks good too. Can be weathered or dyed to get a better match.

Cool. Lucky you got to meet him! Congrats!

Easiest and cheapest way to get decent sound and lights is to take the electronics out of the Disney Park toy blaster. Through their park services, you can have one shipped to you if they are still being sold.

I think I will start an interest list soon. Just want to get enough parts casted to satisfaction. Thank you very much for your compliment on these. I do hope you will be pleased with the actual product when they become available. Stay tuned! -

sorry, I have some family visiting me in Japan for a few weeks. Busy touring around. Hoping to get back on track in the next week or so. Really sorry for the long wait. I think I have parts to put together some kits but need to sort out some mold issues to get one last part to cast better and finalize my packaging & manual. Just ordered some cheap biconvex large lenses for the larger end and some cheap small clear domes for the smaller end lens . Not sure if they will fit but if they do then its one less thing to source for the buyer. -
Hi Bob,

There are a few things to be careful of when taking these part. To ensure the inner ring parts will unscrew, you will need to see if the tiny macro locking screws on the outside of scope can be loosened. You can see two on the outer side of the large scope end, two on the side near the scope single digit and two on the underside of the small lens housing end. These strip easily due to age so be careful. Don't risk it if you feel they don't loosen up.sometimes the inner parts unscrew without these locking screws being loosened. Without a proper tool, the inner parts can also easily be striped to damaged. Fieldmarshall is a pro at this and has made custom tool. He may be able to make one for sale, PM him. If you get the parts removed, that is great news. Any trouble with reassembling, just let me know. They scopes reassemble well but getting the optics to align precisely can be difficult. I took pics after each part and screw removal. Best to document each step so its easy to get it all back together and know what pieces where actually there.
I am making some crude assembly manuals for my scope kits now so they might be of some help.

Epic photo! Agreed, a Jedha patrol patch would be great to have!

Thanks Ripper_L for changing that. Looks much better now. No worries about the content. I will try to post a new thread and see how that works, only the older thread will still be unreadable, not a big deal. Cheers again!

Amazing work guys. All the designs were spectacular. Maybe these designs can be part of some skins to choose from for the forum. -
I brought this issue up a while back and was wondering if there is anything that can be done to fix the viewing of Japanese text. I can type in Japanese if I make a new topic but the main title heading should be fixed so Japanese based members can actually know it says its the Japanese embassy section. At the moment it is just some messed up text. Please let me know if this can be fixed or not. If not, I would like to suggest to change the title heading to read Japanese Embassy or Japanese Support in English until a real fix is made possible. Thanks. Maybe it would be good to read as stated if the tile heading can be changed to Japanese : 日本語 Kiosk

M38 Hollow Core Scope Project 2016 - Bulldog44

Update: Progress slowed to a halt recently, work & life to blame for this. I managed to re-mold the M19, looks good but minor cosmetic issues with the front foot of the scope. I had to touch up some bubble spots with additional silicone so it partially affected the original scope surface texture. It can be sanded to a nicer finish. To eliminate the large air pockets trapped in the castings, I had to rethink my pouring method and scrap using the original pour spouts where the scope feet are. Those spouts are now plugged up with M5 threaded screws and I pour into one end of the mold that gets capped before the resin cures. The advantage now is that there is limited trapped air if any. Also the screws' threaded ends are casted into the scope replicating mounting holes as seen on the real scope. Its almost a full perfect casting of a scope now; less holes to drill out, just need to drill or knock out the inner opaque reticle and screw holes for mounting the smaller parts. Getting better results on the smaller parts. Retainer rings with threading intact, easy to screw together. Still having trouble getting perfect castings of the M38 mounting plate that sits between the scope and the smaller reticle housing. Kit boxes purchased! ( I made them for the first round of sales but decided to go with something easy to assemble quickly- had to buy 300 of them, stocked for quite some time ) . I finally finished the packaging insert template, designed and created in Word. Spent lots of time mocking up a few designs but settled on a simple easy one I can prep. Now putting them together. Lots of folding lines to score and edges to trim but think it will compliment the actual scope kit. Hoping to have some fully finished scope kits ready in the next week or so.
