  2. Love the Sponge Bob' pants !!! ^^ It will be over soon if you keep that cadence
  3. I agree with the fact that having the exact holster straps width for EIB is "over the top". However i think this is a relevant detail for Centurion and with an armor like that i'm pretty sur Micheal will submit for Centurion, so i think this is just anticipation for the future Cent. approval from Phil. Over the time the knowledge and the accuracy expectation have increased a lot and plenty of small requirements have been implincitly added to the list without being written in the CRL, and they probably never will be. I think the holster straps width may just be one the latest one Still Micheal's armor is beyond EIB level!
  4. Proceeding very well and very fast! It's good to see a build handled like that, it has become quite rare these time and it's pleasant to read And nice trick with the (dreaded) SKP, this part is really a piece of sh*t to fit!!
  5. Yes, that's what i did too and the biceps & forearms look just right. The strange thing would be to have too large biceps or forearms. You may just need to reshape a bit the inner curve of the forearm depending on how much you had to take off on each side
  6. Volunteers might also need to bring their own boots too? Unless you have several pairs of different size; or some foam to put inside if volunteers have smaller feet than your boots.
  7. Congratulation! This has been an easy pass
  8. Why do you want to cut the cod ?! I second Mathias on that, you should keep the ab and the cod in one piece or you'll have issues with the strapping, the belt position for hiding the cut line, etc... And for the ab buttons, they must be flat like on the pic below:
  9. Extremely accurate build! Fantastic! Good luck with your Centurion approval PS: Some of your links are down though, might need to update them PS n°2: I don't think the crotch rivet needs to be painted white
  10. Hi, I was looking on the web for a french source of accurate s-trim for the helmet opening and i've found this one: --------- What do you think about it? Is that the right type and does the dimensions look correct? PS: I think most browsers have a page translation feature if you need it .
  11. Well, you can use the "follow this topic" button on the top/right of the page and you'll be notified via e-mail of every new reply posted with his content.
  12. - Nice right forearm, you've fitted it well! Very often the right ATA forearm looks wider than the left one but you managed to keep them the same size, well done. - Your helmet stands high on your head though, there's maybe too much padding inside I think your elbow gap looks acceptable. Just paint them black and you will be good Anyway you should have no problems for the 501st approval!
  13. I think velcro users usually glue it with e6000 rather than using adhesive but i might mistake myself. In the end you can always swap and use hooks to close your shins
  14. Originally the padding i use was something rounded. Then i cut it in half to have that semi-circular shape. It's kind of difficult to explain precisely what the original piece of foam was, even in french i would have difficulties! His purpose was to tuck in a armchair cover ! Usually you just find this stuff it by luck
  15. Not that much to say, you're doing amazing work!!
  16. Ah yes, the fact you cannot update your topic title is really annoying!! Sorry about the unjustified criticisms
  17. This is a nice looking helmet, but this is a nice STUNT helmet right now. Except from the low brown (and maybe the lenses, i can't figured out if they're bubbled or flat), you have Stunt details here. You've hollowed out eight teeth instead of six and you've painted too much of the frown. Also the end teeth need to be recess with heat or filled with ABS paste for example. In the end, ears should have three bumps instead of four and be affixed with only 2 screws and not 3, even if we cannot tell if you've done it with your pic. if you need some References pics, have a look here: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/gallery/album/37-anh-hero-helmet-celebration-4/
  18. You look very good! However you might need to upload pics with a better resolution because they're a bit small. The only thing i've noticed is the lower back of your right thigh that seems to come off. (And you might also post picture of your ammo knee belt rivets and the crotch rivet even if CRL mark it as centurion stuff...)
  19. Or just wear a balaclava under. In addition, i wouldn't recommand using a mesh as those tooth holes are in fact a sight organ for a trooper! If you want to be able to see something that's close to you but smaller, or something laid on a desk without having to bend your whole torso just peek an eye through these, very useful!
  20. I'd say, don't restrain yourself by looking at AP build only. In the end, we all tend to the same result, no matter from which armor maker the armor comes from. There are specific issues that come with AP so yes look at some others AP builds but in the end the basis are the same for all. The main ressources i used: - The "photos References" here on the FISD are priceless. To be checked before all the rest! (you can zoom all the images by right-clicking them): http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/gallery/ - The Stukatrooper's albums on Flickr (easy to find with google) - The Geaux Saint's TM build here on the FISD - The OsotheBear's build and Jancelot's are also great AP builds with a lot of pics - The EIB & CENT applications are also useful (always look at the Photo References first though). In the end, you can always ask here, there should always be a kind soul to answer you
  21. Tsss, that's it, i need one... Might not build it from scratch though, i haven't your (amazing) skill! Congrats! What type of scope is it in the end? 4x20 Vintage ASI?
  22. Yeaah! You look pretty good for a first full suited set of pictures! Good job! Keep improving it until it fits you like a second skin I love what you did with your shins, hooks FTW For your gloves, perhaps you could try to use glove liners underneath. And for the shins, i've padded them like that: And the popper at the bottom is linked with my boot to completly preventing it from twisting Otherwise, just pad it so it feels good on you. It depens on where you have room to fill or where the armor hurts
  23. There was a bunch of SE-14R scopes on sale on the french forum and i regret not having bought a couple a that time!
  24. Perhaps you could try to pull your stomach in for the pic and then... Let it go
  25. You might need to take a picture with a ruler next to your side gaps. For EIB, the CRL says that: "For level two certification (if applicable): Any gap between the ab and kidney plate shall be no more than 1/2" (12.5mm) wide. Any shims used to achieve this effect should be of a similar material and color as the ab and kidney plate. Shims shall fit flush and seams are allowed ." Still, good luck with your approval !
