  1. I took a dremel to the back of mine to shape it out quickly. It definitely helps with mobility unless you're tall and it is a nonissue. Then about a 400 sandpaper to start with. moved up to 1000 to finish.
  2. You could always replace at least the helmet and tweak out the rest of the suit the best you can. Or if you get new armor down the line (once the wife sees all the awesome reactions from people in person she might change her mind) then turning this into a mash up type suit is definitely a great idea. I just saw photos of the TK getting attacked by the ewok suit at DragonCon this weekend and that was a brilliant one. Definitely check out the spec ops group for advice and your local garrison for armor parties to make some friends. All the best on your build!
  3. Haha yup! Working on more as well. Be careful this stuff is addictive!
  4. Fett AND a TK? I like your style!
  5. Bummer Rob. Hopefully the fool will move on to something else soon (or get caught)...
  6. Nice work. What's the next suit on the list?
  7. Split down the middle. I enjoy my smooth AP, but I like the idea of real troopers being a little beat up, asymmetrical, and worn. Granted I don't think any military would allow that to happen on THE DEATH STAR, but out in the field it's cool for sure.
  8. Do you have any pictures of the cut on the back so we can get a handle on the problem? I use a pair of screw snaps on my ammo belt (one on either end of the plastic area in front) to attach and help lock the belt into position against the ab plate. There should be tutorials on here showing that method. Of course it could depend on that cut in the back on how to line it up and to see if that method could help your situation.
  9. My first suit was a modified FX and I went to town on it trying to get it looking good for approval. You're off to a good start for sure. It looks like you have snaps or some visible connector on your shoulders. Can you lose that, fill the hole, sand, paint, and glue them down in the front? Maybe a shim for your sides to help close that gap. You could maybe even trim your kidney at the top to get it more flush against your back plate. Also the shoes appear to have a black/gray stripe and those should be solid white.
  10. Someone PLEASE post that up on MEPD for a laugh...
  11. Nice work Vern glad to see you knocking so much out. Have a great one!
  12. Definitely look for a kit so that you can build it to your body. TK's are not a one size fits all operation... As far as armor makers, I would look here first and avoid Ebay. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/11538-the-various-types-of-armor-and-where-to-find-them/
  13. Great price and completely tweakable. I love my Hyperfirms!
  14. Nice work.
  15. I have AP build and it's great. I like RS and TM even more. I would avoid the kit you posted like the plague. Even if you get in the door you'll probably want to upgrade shortly after and as you learn more.
  16. I went with Vader Dave when I had my FX. Good stuff. Cleaner than my paint on my AP now lol...
  17. Woooo! Good times.
  18. Centurions also get complimentary champagne on board any Star Destroyer.
  19. There's probably a fine line of comfort vs. what looks good in a mirror. I don't think TK's every feel completely comfortable, but at the same time you should be able to take a test walk around your yard or street and the suit shouldn't cut into the backs of your knees and into your forearms. Also as you wear it more and more it just becomes second nature and less of a surreal experience. Though I don't think I ever suit up without a big smile on my face.
  20. Same here. My straps are thinner though and I'm going to come up with the wider ones. I've seen a number of people with two snaps to connect with as well for extra protection.
  21. Don't mind me just wiping the drool off my mouth... Nice work!
  22. Nice work! I was able to TK with the lego X-Wing at Legoland and man photos do not do justice to the size of that thing. I also saw the eFX suit in person this weekend at SDCC. I was initially a little engraged before I got down there and I apologize for bringing any negativity to FISD. To quote Bill Burr "I'M PASSIONATE ABOUT MY OPINIONS AND I WANT TO TELL YOU ALL OF THEM BEFORE YOU START TALKING AGAIN"... Love you guys!
