You want to leave enough of the return edge to give the armor some weight and thickness. Much of the top of the bicep is going to be under the shoulder bell somewhat. The blue line looks right to me. About the same edge that you left on your forearms in the pic above this one. Also, keep in mind, you need it to be comfortable and fit your arm snug, but not vice-grip.

I here you man - but hang in there it's worth it! I spent three months on my AP kit and made tons of mistakes - even after I being approved I kept going back and redoing things - lots of work but when you're out trooping its definitely worth the long hours

Had a similar crack on the return edge at the bottom of my chest. I guess it came from lifting my arms and the chest plate getting stuck on top of the ab and popping. I used super glue since you can't really see it.

Rob's a good guy. I was about to get on his list for some armor, but an AP kit came up for sale here and I took it instead. I did get one of his "stunt" lids. It was a beauty (a little too large for me). I ended up selling it on to someone here. Good luck with your suit!

6-1, 188 right now and AP fits me fine although I had to shim the sides. I also shimmed the backs of the thighs... As for your forearm, did you test fit it with your undersuit on? That sometimes makes a difference in regards to having a tight fit - of course you mentioned it was tight on your bare arm, so you made need to recut and size again. Shoulder bell height looks good. Yep, back plate needs to come down some.

TRUE THIS. The first time I wore my armor for a period longer than a few minutes - say a couple of hours - I woke up the next morning pretty sore. I guess, even though you take the armor to be light, your body, with all of it on and put together, isn't used to being contained in a layer of plastic! Oh, and I still forget and smile with my lid on.

Sorry, don't have one nearby at this moment...I will say this, Mathias is correct in saying at 195 it's probably not going to close around your midsection. Even with the weight I've lost, I still have my shims in place on the sides, which I'm fine with. I also had to shim the backs of my thighs and calves, not much, but a little. Also my cover strips aren't entirely screen accurate - if that matters to you.

Alot of it depends on what size you are. I'm 6-1, 197. I weighed 217 pounds when I first started wearing my armor, which is AP. It's derived from screen armor, so it was built for a guy around 5-7, 150-60ish. I wasn't really happy with the way it fit when I first put it on, but as I've lost weight it's started looking better....NE is for bigger folks. I considered that as well, but ultimately decided to go with AP, mainly because I was impatient and someone had a kit here for sale. It worked out fine for me.

I didn't post when I started my weight loss goal, which was Jan. 2. But so far I'm down from 216 to 197...and counting (trying to get to 190). All I did was just start watching my calorie count. My armor (AP) fits much better now. Everyone stick with your goals! It's worth it!

Oh, and Eric: will you address the rumour that you're planning to fly all Detachment Staff to the Aloha State for a big Luau - on your dime?

Hey Glen. Tried your idea at lunch and I think that's the way to go! Snapped the bridge connection to the shoulder straps original position (under the formed indention) and it actually looked fine. Think i'll add a snap plate forward of the indention and see what that looks like. Thanks for the help!

Generally happy with the way my armor fits me....It's an AP, so I knew at 6 foot, 210 it wasn't going to be perfect on my size. That said: the left shoulder is driving me batty! Right shoulder, as you can see, fits okay, but the left shoulder is pulling away. I know it's not a real big issue, but I hate the black that is showing. I'll note what I've done: - I've moved the snaps forward inside the shoulder bells, which helped somewhat. - I added two corner snaps inside the chest plate and ab plate which lifted the chest up and I thought would help. It didn't. - I'll also note that when I built the armor, the right arm was built looser and the left fits alot tighter (my mistake there). But I don't think that should be an issue? Should it? Do you think I should check the length of the inside straps on my bells and make them tighter on the left side? Is it a rotation issue I'm running into? Should I make the connecting strap between the bicep and shoulder tighter? Thanks for any help!

I used 20 mm on the arms and 25 on the front thighs and calves and 30 on the backs.. Mines AP so it was designed for a screen accurate sized TK.. Everything is proportionate to my size, though.

Looks good to me! Fits you well. I have AP, I'm 6-foot, 215, so I had to shim! (I really envy you screen accurate sized TKs!)
