  1. I think it really depends on how your armor is built as to the order of dressing but remember that you'd rarely ever be trooping alone and you should have plenty of help from fellow squad members. We always wander looking for "free hands" to help with a belt, straps, or any other adjustments. Just don't forget to make your neck seal one of the FIRST things to put on as it's a pain once you're fully suited up! Dressing from the ground up is roughly the rule though. Besides... what else are Officers good for!!!
  2. Yeah, the wait time for most makers should allow you time to save money for it before you get the email saying "yours is ready to ship". I waited almost 10 months for mine and purchased other items needed (neck seal, boots, belt, gloves, building supplies, etc) in the mean time. It's not $1000 right away but over time. It's well worth it though!
  3. I have ATA as well and love love love it! The only down side is that there is usually a long wait. Mine took about 10 months to arrive but I ordered right before CV so I was in a longer line than usual. Well worth it though!!!
  4. I had an issue with my left shoulder bell sliding back all the time. I switched them and now they both look great. Strange but it worked for me.
  5. Looking good! Several shiney new TKs in the TBS lately.
  6. Hey Vern, can you send me the link to the page where you found this? I tried to copy it but it didn't work.
  7. Great build thread and awesome attention to detail! I had a friend who is a model builder assemble my E11 as I wouldn't know where to start. This is one of those threads that needs to be saved for future viewings. Here is the link to my final pics. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/24530-anh-e-11-doopydoo-kit-completed/
  8. I agree with Mike...STUDY! Start getting your ducks in a row as there is plenty to do before your armor ships. Start collecting supplies and tools as well as accessories like a holster, belt, under suit, gloves, blaster, etc. Good luck!!!
  9. So jealous... good luck with your build and of course... lots of pics!
  10. That bucket is freaking me out! It looks like a frog or the Creature from the Black Lagoon! That belt looks awful big for some reason. Keep at it.
  11. Here is a link to my final pics from my Doopys build. Sorry I don't have a build thread...just these photos. Enjoy your build and good luck! http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/24530-anh-e-11-doopydoo-kit-completed/
  12. Hey Albert, I can't speak about the other vendors you listed but I love my ATA kit. I'm very close to your size (5'8-175lbs) and my armor fits great. The only issue I had was the looooong wait time. Of course I got on the list before C6 and I'm sure he was backlogged. Best thing I can say is do what you're doing... ask, ask, ask! I did lots of research before I made any choices and as Vern said, everyone here is very helpful.
  13. Can you share your links to your photos of your mounting setup? Pros and cons of where you put everything? I'm going to use an ICOMM with speaker and Memorex wireless setup.
  14. I see you are looking for pics of Wampas for next month's issue. Where do we send them too?
  15. Here are some pics of my completed E-11 that my buddy built for me. He's a master model builder and has been doing modeling forever. He's also a big Star Wars fan so that helped. I sent him links to several builds (including the one by Techne) on this forum to help him with ideas as well as making sure it's up to snuff. Let me know what you think and I'll be sure to pass it along to him as well.
  16. If you have any questions... you can always ask Gordon...ahem... I mean "Ask C3PO"! https://www.facebook.com/AskC3PO
  17. The program that I use is called "Fusion" and I downloaded it from the internet. I did a search for "best HDR programs" and I liked it the best. Pretty easy and straight forward to use and I get some cool results.
  18. I'm new as well and agree with Minuteman. My squad troops always have several TKs. Laspector... I'm with you... old school all the way!
  19. Armor officially baptized in blood... congrats and good luck on your build!
  20. Artifacts from the program merging the images. Depending what style effect I do, sometimes the image color "distorts" but I agree... it looks cool!
  21. 5 images at a one stop variance then merged and tweaked. The ones from CVI were hand helded which was tough.
  22. Here are a few HDR images I've done... some from CVI and some at a recent AP. Let me know what you think!
