  1. That is a great assembly, I like it! It helps to solidify the fully self contained feeling/look.
  2. My son is 140cm at 7 as well, but he has super tall parents. the sizing isn't to bad, I just need a little bit of padding in some parts to fill them out since I wanted to leave room for him to grow. It is one of the brand new suits, I'm super happy with it, just looking forward to legoland here in Germany and CE2 this summer to let him get a taste of trooping, sore feet and roleplaying!
  3. I was wondering what happened to the GA. I wanted to submit my sons in his TrooperMaster Jr. suit, but no links were working except facebook, so I just stopped.
  4. I agree, I like my TM and wouldn't trade it for any other type of suit available, or even two of another suit.
  5. Def 3am, there is no link
  6. Looks good to me. Just pull it as tight as possible and rivet it in. the gaps are not noticeable beyond when you are right in front of it, and looking down at it.
  7. Yes, more paste, and fill the gap solid, even a little overage is ok, since you will sand it and it will look like a single piece of ABS. I agree with what Phil said, the gap is very accurate, the screen used suits had gaps everywhere and the small gap on the lower leg is only noticeable when you are looking only at that. Once you have the suit on noone will be looking at that seam.
  8. How do you get your thighs on over your boots?
  9. Hrm, we should probably kill those photos from the TUTORIALS section, that's not accurate to use a pop rivet, plus the sniper plate photo has a pop rivet. The type of connection to be used on the ammo pack should be a split rivet or a cap rivet or even a chicago screw. The important part is that it has a solid head.
  10. Hi Dom, --------- Also, here is a post about the curve: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/22061-howto-trim-your-knee-belt-corners/page__hl__+thigh#entry276649
  11. There are several threads about SDS and his validity or lack thereof... It jsut comes down to if you compare SDS armor side by side with the screenshots and photos of the actual screen used armor, it is not the same, there are some pretty glaring differences. After a while on the forums and after you make your first suit, you'll be able to spot them as well.
  12. RS is surely approvable. Troopermaster also makes armor and will sometimes do assembly service, you can PM here on the forums under his name troopermaster.
  13. Kenny, check out this thread: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/20869-combined-on-going-accessories-listing/ Basically all of the extra parts you can find on there from vendors here who can get you what you need. TM is troopermaster and can be found here on the FISD via a private message to the same name. If you buy a kit, the things you need additional are the boots, neck seal, holster, cloth belt , under suit, gloves, blaster and the strapping for connecting the suit. I know troopermaster sometimes will sell assembled kits with everything included (minus the undersuit I think). The first stop is sending him a PM and seeing what he can do for you.
  14. Oh crud, it's the same guy....DOH. I read THL thread but didn't read the stormtrooper one... wow, this guy is off his rocker.
  15. The Pred forum was about another guy who did the same thing with a predator mask, trying to pass it off as his own.
  16. Agreed with the above! CFO (Cast From Original) is the only ROTJ suit maker who is 'certified' here as ROTJ armor. The SDS armor isn't really detailed as the movie suits were, once you get into the hobby and are able to see the subtle differences, it will be come apparent. A maker you haven't listed there is Troopermaster, he is based out of the UK and makes one of the best accurate ANH suits on the market. All of the makers you listed with the exception of SDS would be good suits for all different budgets. Really it is down to how much you want to spend on accuracy, what your body type/size is and how long you want to wait! Some of the manufacturers have a long waiting list, some don't. You've already made the most important first steps into the hobby, we look forward to seeing you around!
  17. In this order: 1. Under suit 2. waist/thigh garter (if you have one) 3. Neck seal (tuck under your body suit so it doesn't stick out of the armor) 4. thigh pieces 5. Boots 6. shins 7. torso (should all be pre-connected so you just slide in and clam shell it on then snap in the side and shoulder bridge) 8. snap the crotch tab 9. belt 10. TD (if you have trouble alone, use your fingers to ring the center ridge and determine the mid of the back and place the TD there 11. If your shoulder bells are not attached, this is the next step. 12. biceps 13. forearms 14. gloves (depending on your forearm closure style you can put these on before the forearms) 15. turn on electronics 16 put on the lid 17. grab the gun 18 pewpew
  18. Dan, since talking to you today and finding that we are so close, we should get together. I'm by far not an expert in the field but I've learned a thing or two from talking to those much more experienced them me here on the forums and beyond. We can talk a look over your new suit after the exchanges, talk about everything and see where to go from there! I can bring my TrooperMaster suit and you can look at what another suit looks like close up, make some comparisons and such. I'm always excited to geek out some.
  19. Wayne, did you put a hook inside the biceps to catch your shoulder bell strap? Great build, very clean, well done, approval will be a no brainer.
  20. Nope, that shouldn't stop you.
  21. Well, not that we wanted to condone drinking to excess, but drinking a good vintage is sometimes exactly what you need. What was it besides a good nights sleep that got you back into the right frame of mind?
  22. I was recommended a glenmorangie astar, still looking for it in a shop, but I'll prob have to order it I imagine.
  23. Lots of people crop up. They get a suit, see how much they sell for reverse mold it and sell their own. Perpetrating the bad armors all around the world. You do notice the recasts of quality armor are very rare. Because recasters don't want to invest in quality armor so they spend 200 on a crap suit and make more crap suits. Not that we would want to see a recast of quality armor either, since its someone's hard work they are just copying and bastardizing.
  24. I am definitely not a fan of the bikini bottom. A wider one with contour lines works so much better.
  25. Single malt lovers here! I'm just a hack only two bottles, a highland park 12 and a glenlivet 15. The 15 is so much better...
