  1. You can always check with your GML as they will ultimately be the ones looking after your costume approval
  2. Please read the first post in this thread, you need to add a link to your 501st membership profile
  3. Personally, I would not interfere with the bump, if you try heat it may disform or sanding you may rub through. Add a small amount of paint (or marker) on to the bump then place against the pipe, should leave a mark where you need to drill the hole
  4. Some makes of helmet may not allow the "ideal" ear placement hence it's not a requirement only recommended. To reduce the gap on the cheek you would trim the top area, also adding a step will allow the ear to come down further at the front. You could leave it how it is, some like them tighter, some screen used helmets did have large gaps
  5. Looking forward to seeing the big brow boxes and the updated DLT-19
  6. I used some fence wire, comes in different thicknesses and quite soft, easy to twist. Screen reference
  7. Not that I'm aware, I have no idea how you would be able to change the color. There are makers of this type of glove you may be able to reach out to them an enquire if they can make them in this color, ROTK or FOTK. Some other CRL's have this detail for basic approval some don't so will have to see once the CRL text is written, only the palm stitching is L2.
  8. Congratulations Joseph, good luck with this term
  9. Hello and welcome, for Original Stormtrooper head here, for First order Stormtrooper this area should help you on your way. Research is the key with this hobby, it can be an expensive one, good luck with the research
  10. That would be very kind of you, looking forward to seeing the end result, "troopers helping troopers"
  11. A few have responded with the same issue on legion forums, hopefully some may have seen the posts and check. I was very surprised the LWM didn't put out a post about the issue, just to make other prospective nominees aware.
  12. Here's my painted detonator, grey primer and clear coat, I couldn't find a grey I liked locally No actual dimensions only screen references. You may find with some makes that if you trim just before mold lines you should be close. There is that "approximately" word again From the CRL Thermal Detonator (A.K.A. O2 canister) attaches to the center back of the belt. Detonator consists of an all grey cylinder, without silver stickers or silver paint. The cylinder is between 2” (50mm) and 2.68"(68mm) in diameter with white end caps on each end. The white control panel raised ribbed pad faces the rear, with the controls/round washer style detail closest to the right end cap. The total length is approximately 7.50" (190.5mm). End caps are approximately .78" (20mm)in width. The thermal detonator is attached via metal or metallic-appearing clips, approximately 1" (25mm) wide. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Clips shall be attached with slotted type, flat or dome top style screws, and be black (two per clip). V head screws are not permitted. Thermal detonator belt clips are positioned with little to no gap between the clips and the end caps. The verticle (straight)section of the clips do not extend past the bottom of the canvas belt Even the CRL image is not 100% correct to references (Gap between control panel and endcaps)
  13. Legion Election Nomination Notifications Anyone with gmail may want to check the elections portal just to make sure they have not been nominated for any legion/garrison/squad/outpost/detachment positions, my GCO was nominated a few days ago and didn't receive an email notification and the same has just happened to me overnight. This may just be something that is happening locally but wouldn't hurt to check if you use gmail. FYI I did contact the LWM "I can see where the nomination and the second nomination emails were generated. I also see the archive box has a copy of each. So they were sent, but depending on the provider, no guarantee that they were delivered. Gmail has been doing some weird on and off delivery of even Google forms lately, if what I was told today was accurate."
  14. Personally I think you should be ok for base clearance with the brow trim, not mentioned until L2, but entirely up to your GML Brow trim should be positioned ¼" above the eyes. Black series Reference
  15. You should be ok if you fulfil the base requirements The Black Series helmet is approvable if modified to meet the level 1 CRLs At the end of the day your GML makes the final call so you could check with him/her/them/they. Here is another great build
  16. You will find a lot of "approximate" used in the CRL's a lot of time to cater for what is available now as well as differences between imperial and metric. If you are ever in doubt and you can't wait for a response as you are in a building groove you can always refer to the gallery areas
  17. Please read the first post in this thread and add a link to your membership profile
  18. Pretty much over 6" most will go for Dave's Darkdside (AM)
  19. You do need to paint the tube grey, has to be grey not gunmetal, grey similar to helmet trap grey. I used grey primer and coated in clear paint. CRL (Costume Reference Gallery) https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TK_anh_stunt Detonator consists of an all grey cylinder, without silver stickers or silver paint

  21. Hello and welcome aboard, some references which may be of help As per the CRL for Basic approval: "The white control panel raised ribbed section faces the rear.." And when worn with the belt make sure the slips go all the way down and are not seen from below the belt. Good luck with research and build, don't be afraid to ask questions, there's always someone around ready to jump in (or we aren't far away )
  22. Congratulations troopers, well deserved, I wonder who nominated you
  23. I really wouldn't bother
  24. For anyone using spray glue Down Under, check the color of the glue, there are a few brands that are yellow and can look like snot (boogers), Spotlight craft spray dries clear (or did the last can I purchased)
