Vendors list for Imperial Commando costume parts & accesories
gmrhodes13 replied to Sly11's topic in Quick find resources
Vendor list will need an update, the majority of Etsy links are no longer working, Etsy has been removing blaster/pistols/sidearms from their site so no doubt a lot of sellers are leaving Etsy. I've reached out to a few of the vendors to see if they have setup other sites for sale items. If you are a vendor of any of these items please post the information and the thread will be updated -
I find fluids aren't a problem, if you have a two piece undersuit or zip, there is enough room to manoeuvre in armor to expel liquids, No2 now that's another problem. But then agian it doesn't happen much, you generally sweat out all of your excess liquid

ANH build: this is where the fun begins
gmrhodes13 replied to LoudDragon's topic in ANH Build Threads
Just take note if you cut anything off the cod/abdomen you may need to remove some material from the kidney or posterior as they will sit lower than the cod. It's important as I've posted early any cut and fixture will need to be covered with the belt and nothing seen from the outside. Currently your ab/kidney is a little too narrow as you can see from the side, if you add the shims then you can match the end of the posterior to the kidney. Some references You also do not need to add a "notch" it is optional all the way to L3 Cut-out notches at the bottom of right and left sides of the Kidney Armor are optional. If present, each notch is approximately 22 mm tall and the back of the notch ideally is aligned with the front edges of the Posterior Armor plate.. -
As long as the files match screen references, also all print lines need to be removed. There have been some ROTK versions printed and approved. Ultimately it's up to your GML (garrison membership liaison) as they look after base costume approval so always best to check with them.

Local 501st legion should be able to help you, I believe Mountain Garrison looks after events in Colorado https://www.mg501.com/, you can reach out to them here https://www.mg501.com/forum/contact or via their facebook page https://www.facebook.com/MG501st/ Legion map of US garrisons https://www.501st.com/maps/imagemap-northamerica.php This forum is a Detachment we do not organise or collaborate with events, the forum is more for costume help. Good luck hope everything works out.

I would highly recommend before making any cuts to have a read through the links I posted previously, we have just seen a person trim too much off their abdomen and kidney and are now either having to add extra material of find replacement pieces. For those of a skinnier nature like me I built to the average size and added foam behind my abdomen, which will hold it outwards and take up some slack when tightening your belt and things won't get as squashed. A few issues you may want to address first is the overlap of the backplate and kidney which will be pushing your posterior down and outwards, also the thighs hitting the posterior, there may need to be some trimming of those so you can actually walk. Strapping makes a BIG difference to how everything will sit.

There were a few items on the CRL application which were not quite right but at that time we only had the one applicant and he had already made a lot of suggested adjustments, as well as some things where allowable for base level costume approval. Over time as we see now someone with an eye for detail will build the costume and find things not previously mentioned and hopefully the CRL for this costume will get an update, once we have updated photos to add hint hint It's all about references, CRL is a guide but screen references is what we ultimately look towards when making a costume. Great to see you are taking it to the next level of accuracy

You may find something close on the Clonetroopers forum, I don't think anyone has posted a template/pattern to date.

TR Amp ghosting customers ?
gmrhodes13 replied to Flintlock's topic in Electronics for Helmets / Blasters
We see this far too often with suppliers, it's pretty common, it is unfortunate, but at least with this supplier he is actually delivering, albeit @12 months behind. I've been out of pocket from other suppliers going out of business or just stop supplying over the years, it's far too common. One thing to note the deal with LFL was prop/armor suppliers must do this as a hobby/second job not their main form of income. Still this is not an excuse not to make their customers aware of any situation. -
ANH build: this is where the fun begins
gmrhodes13 replied to LoudDragon's topic in ANH Build Threads
I am wondering, would I be able to just, cut off the entire pelvic portion, then reattach it on each end to the abdomen with rivets to allow it to pivot? thus allowing more range of motion? otherwise I'll just glue it back on like normal. Cutting the cod used to happen quite a lot in the early days with FX kits as their cod area was large and hung lower, we don't see it much these days as most kits are a little smaller there. Before cutting I would read through a few of the smaller trooper build threads I posted previously. Any cut you make will need to be behind the belt and not seen from the outside as would any attachment method you use -
ANH build: this is where the fun begins
gmrhodes13 replied to LoudDragon's topic in ANH Build Threads
You will need to add some black paint to the TD screws Note you have a big angle on the back and it may not sit on your correctly with the triangle shims. This is a L3 approved set of armor, notice the width of the top ab-kidney is pretty much the same on the bottom of the ab-kidney
