  1. Hey Jenny, just now saw that you started a build thread for your hubbies armor. I really like the bucket, looks awesome. Can't wait to see it completed and get him reported for duty, we can always use more troopers out there.
  2. Thank you very much for making these.
  3. Jim Brace 32380 EIB Letter
  4. Good job, congratulations and welcome to EI club trooper.
  5. Nice looking build, good luck on your approval.
  6. Congrats. Welcome to the EI ranks trooper. Not sure if it matters or not, but we both have the same approval number
  7. Sweet. Thanks again to everyone for your help and support in this achievement.
  8. Thanks guys. Hope to add another EI trooper to the garrison and the fire team.
  9. Thanks for the heads up. I originally had the tableclothe clamps on there, but they were only 1/2" wide. Then I tried to get aluminum pieces to form that I had seen some troopers do, but I found it a little hard to come by, then i found these money clips and figured they were about the right size. And thanks for the well wishes
  10. Name: Jim Brace ID: TK-32380 Garrison: Bloodfin Armor: AM (purchased untouched from FISD member Herbivore) Helmet: CAP (purchased from FISD member vecspeed12) Neckseal: Darman Holster: Darman Belt: Canvas (homemade, mom made it) Boots: TK Boots Blaster: Resin (purchased from ebay, ok'd by local member) This armor has truly been a family project as all members have been involved in the build at one point or another. Thank you also to my local garrison and FISD members for all your help and build tips. Back of AM shins Seperate Kidney/Butt plate Thank you for viewing my request for EIB status.
  11. I just finished my build using E6000, line 24 snaps from tandy and webbing material as the snap plate. I too read about the snaps and plastic causing heat damage, so I followed another members suggestion and covered the back of the snap with tape so the metal on the snap didn't come in contact with the glue or the armor. It was done as a precaution or just in case kind of thing. But it doesn't hurt to experiment like Mathias has suggested already. Hope this helps you out.
  12. Thanks for the thought. Removed the plate last night, put some foam between the plate and shin to help push it forward a little instead of angling back at my knee (angle change suggested by fellow garrison member). Reglued last night, I'll see how it worked after work today.
  13. Thought about trimming some of the return edge, but was worried about the plate being too thin and more fragile causing it to break if the thigh were to hit one too many times.
  14. The foam in the shins is on each side, left and right, to keep it held straight. Shins are already tight on my leg I don't know if I'd be able to add foam to the back of them.
  15. Going through my armor tonight, getting prepped for my first troop saturday and making sure everything is in order. Unfortunately i've hit somewhat of a snag. It's an issue with my sniper plate position. I've put foam on the insides of my shins to keep them from spinning, which has worked great, but the sniper plate is digging into the front of my knee. I could live with this if it wasn't for the plate hitting the thigh and then pinching my knee between the plate and the thigh. Haven't been able to figure out a solution yet. If anyone has any suggestions i'd really appreciate it, thanks. This material in between the sniper plate and thigh is the meat of my leg.
  16. Thanks guys. Sure does Isaac. Looking to make my first troop next weekend so ill see how it goes.
