  1. Just think of the 'saran wrap' as unwrapping Xmas presents...again and again and again Rob does a great job of protecting his work so it gets to you unscathed! Have fun - I enjoyed my build of the armor he built for me very much. Good luck and remember you have an invaluable resource right here on FISD if you have questions (which you undoubtedly will)!
  2. Ditto - humbled and proud to have my name on her bin as well. Great job, troopers!
  3. Very cool - if you could incorporate a laser into it to that would be double awesome! I've had my eye on a couple of Halloween 'ray guns' to use as a hold-out weapon for my Mandolorian build, but will wait until the after-Halloween sales to pick them up. I prefer to hand-build Mando weapons as opposed to spray painting a watergun/nerf gun, but some of the pre-made stuff can be very cool with a little work.
  4. I am stealing that - just thought i'd let you know
  5. It was a PITA, but E6000 is pretty forgiving so just a minor setback. I've been lucky that only 2 of my 40 magnets have broken, but will probably buy another 20 or so for my next build - like clamps, you can't have too many!
  6. Don't let this happen to you: My ab & kidney plates were about a foot apart on my work bench when they decided to 'get together'
  7. I love the one I saw that had Jar-Jar in the cross-hairs...
  8. Silly question, but would you be able to wire both mics into one speaker (mono)? Since I only have hearing in one ear it would nice to be able to hear all around me, even if it isn't really directional. As it is, when I run a fan I can't hear anything at all (except the fan).
  9. I survived the "Vegas-esque Beach Themed Mall" - very appropriate description Eric I did get to Duke's (twice!) and we also ventured away from Waikiki on a few occasions. Naturally, we didn't cover everything we wanted to do while there - 5 days isn't nearly enough time...we were kind of on a budget that got blown out of the water very quickly, but it was an awesome experience and we can't wait to go back. We started a list of stuff we didn't get to do and are formulating a plan to get to the other islands as well...so it will probably be a 10-14 day trip next time, and you can imagine how long it will take to afford that kind of trip (bringing the kiddos along as well). Probably my favorite experience was learning to surf with Hawaiian Fire - I did manage to get up and ride a few waves but also spent my share of time falling off. And as you can see below, I was representing the Empire, thanks to Barricade's undershirt run
  10. Thanks to everyone for the replies - we have quite a list of things to do! Very much looking forward to this adventure - and for any Pacific Outpost peeps who find themselves in the area of our hotel, drop me a PM!
  11. Ditto what Eric said. I'm 6'3" and had to do minimal trimming on my RT, mostly in the thighs for my chicken legs. It is worth the wait and you'll love the kit!
  12. I don't know how Pearl Harbor and the USS Arizona memorial slipped my mind! Definitely going to both places. Thanks for the link and recommendation of the Cultural Center. As for the tattoos, I think someone in the North Texas Squad was responsible for those...we're flattered she is representing for us
  13. My wife & I will be staying at the Hilton Waikiki Beach next week (10/9-15) and I wanted to ask if there is anything we MUST see/do while we're there. We're already signed up for the usual tourist-y stuff (surfing lessons, helicopter ride, snorkleing). It is our first trip out there...and I'm not sure when we'll be able to return, so we'd like to see as much as possible. If anyone lives near where we're staying I'd love to meet you in person - I won't have my armor with me (although I did debate bringing my bucket...) but will buy you a beer & have a Star Garrison patch or two with me. PM me if you're nearby. thanks!
  14. Here's the 'unofficial' CRL: http://903rd.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=forcegenreq&action=display&thread=267&page=1 Lightsabers can get pretty pricey - especially if you are going to get into sparring/dueling.
  15. The Acolyte is on my short list of next builds. Have you started researching lightsabers yet?
  16. Congratulations! Another RT-Mod Centurion!
  17. Looking forward to both being available as well...and FISD trading cards too (i know this is the wrong thread for those )

I just registered/visited the new Detachment and am ROTFLMAO The sub-categories under "Costume Stuff" - Hair...brilliant!
  19. Second vote for RT-Mod. I'm 6'2", 205# and had to do very little cutting/sizing to fit into my armor.
  20. Screws in the Hengstler - Genius!
  21. They seem to have pretty good reviews over on Sith Lords but I have no personal experience to draw from.
  22. Congratulations! I really like your TKID on your Hengstler - I thought of doing the same thing myself...but don't trust my dremel skills to engrave mine
  23. Congratulations! Great work on your armor!
  24. Ok, now THAT is funny! Was ice cream served after the flash mob? I'm sure it was quite creamy from all the jostling around
