  1. There is some information on surviving lid's held in this thread. http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=3516
  2. Hi Phil, In the movie ANH, the Stunt (background) troopers lenses were a green single strip, their are a few guy's on the forum who can help you out with new two piece lenses that will fit your MR lid. If it's MRCE? Just remove the three retaining screw's per lense & install your new lenses & hey presto. There has been some discusion in the past on the acurate color of hero helmet lenses, I'm sure someone else might want to add thier thought's on that matter I'm just replying to your green question hope this helps
  3. They go somewhere about here 3 in each earcap, so 6 screw's in total I used this method just don't over tighten them, the lid's fairly robust lol
  4. look's different to me but Hey what do I know if your after one as seen in the pic, I may be able to assist you
  5. Hey up, er Glen, You could try epoxy as an option to strengthen it. There is also a great thread on a helmet conversion somewhere around here, that suggest's super glue & an old T-shirt layered around the thin section's, although I have never personally tried this. just to give you a couple more option's to think about Good Luck
  6. Guess the background trooper's wer'nt allowed to wear the Hero lid's & where did they get their clothes from again, once they dumped the Armor after the trash compactor scene <_< ???
  7. Look's like this is a thread worth bookmarking
  8. I'v read that it's very acurate also but I was unsure , about the acute curve around the vo-coder area & if the rubber would give! Interested to find out how it turn's out
  9. Most of the item's I get shipped from the State's are sent USPS priority mail, although I do try split good's up depending on their size into a couple of boxes & they usually arrive in just over a week It's cheaper & better service than you get here in the UK <_<
  10. Mine had to be completly removed & replaced, it was like looking through a soap dish Don't know if anyone else had a similar experience? also interested to find out which style of neck trim have you opted to use?
  11. So it's not Alexis in the last pic & I'd say your only a few more hour's from great looking armor
  12. Looking good, I'l be watching this thread will you have an approximate hours in total spent when it's complete? to share? to give me a rough idea of time cost, in prep for mine
  13. Do you mean different Helmets between ANH & ESB more than just the finish? sorry to go slightly OT, I aways thought All ESB Lid's were just reconditioned ANH back OT here's a link to older list kindly provided by T*E, hope it's ok to post http://www.mepd.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=...hlight=original
  14. Looking forward to pic's of the finished Lid
  15. Does it really matter so long as its comfortable for me??? Thanks.. DD. Comfortable, is what work's for me
  16. I think that's absolutley great & a terrific presentation
  17. Just wondered if there was any progress on this it was coming along very nicely
  18. I like the weathering but maybe a few more bigger chip's . In for a penny in for a pound
  19. There seam's to be a mix up on the above post's perhaps! as your helmet was won for $430 if I'm correct the other helmet mentioned, ver 1 sold for $702. The are different helmet's in many way's & best read on the link theynerd posted. Your helmet appears to be a nice helmet & I'm sure you will be happy with it, as for a value that can only be attributed to how much someone is prepared to pay. as for the rest of your question's I'm sure someone else could pitch in
  20. Why would the premiere release be in OZ? I thought it was an American production if the info's in the link I apologies, as I don't have access.
  21. Unfortunatly I think it was'nt the ver:1 but this one that was purchased --------------- back OT there is lot's of info all over this forum & it's definatly worth the time spent reading it
  22. Looking forward to seeing the finished Helmet & some more progress pic's perhap's
  23. I just went with personal preference, out of all the other lid's I have, the ear cap's all appear to differ in dimensions/width's to some degree. So I just trimmed away until I was happy with the overall look, roughly 5mm to the front of the cap's 3mm to the back. this is a rough estimate Hope this helps PS starwarshelmets is always a good reference site for Accuracy issues & you get to look at loads of cool pic's
