  1. My wife Kathy (Ciderqueen) also had a problem with getting TK boots the right size as she is only size 4 so we also used the Dye Phil used to dye her black boots white. It is not as hard as it looks. The important thing is to prepare the surface properly before applying the dye. We used super strength acetone nail varnish remover and a scourer to get rid of all traces of polish etc. Then we used the preparer that came with the dye. We gave the boots 4 or 5 coats but the dye took really well and has hardly come off at all after several troops! ---------
  2. I'm 52 and I have 2 grown up kids and 2 little grandkids - as the others have said trooping helps to keep you young (I still feel 18 in my head) - Still a newbie at this having only been with the UKG and 501st for about 10 months but started work on my second costume already - Since we have have been a part of this fantastic organisation we have met so many new friends and had nearly 20 great troops! We have fun, help charities and bring smiles to kids faces so we will carry on trooping as long as we can!
  3. Congrats on your clearance! BTW how did you animate your photo? I have this as my UKG avatar!
  4. Belated congratulations mate!
  5. Height= 5'6" (i know, arent you a little short for a stormtrooper?) Nah, no problem! Kathy and I are only 5' 4"! Good luck with your clearance!
  6. Hi Ingrid, The Certificates are really great and very professional looking! Got Kathy's and mine yesterday. I put a post on UKG to let people know that these are now available!

  13. Cool action shot! Congratulations Trooper!
  14. I am in the UK and and ordered a Dooby Doos conversion kit for my Hasbro several months ago. The kit took far longer than it should have done and I sent a couple of emails enquiring why it was taking so long. They said that it had been sent but had been 'lost' so were resending it. Again I was told they had no record of my previous emails despite the fact that I still had it in my ebay messages list. I was also made to feel that i was being lied to. The strange thing is the kit was very good when it finally arrive. It just seems that they have poor customer service skills. It does seem a shame as I was wanting to get their complete blaster kit but the delays and problems people here and in the UK seem to be having is putting me off ordering it.
  15. Hi Joe, Welcome to FISD! If you want to be a Stormtrooper and you are willing to work hard enough for it you will do it! Remember 'Size matters not'! You will get all the help and advice you need here! PM sent!
  16. Hi Mathias, I notice that this seller is claiming that the armour is '501st approved' like another ebay seller we are acquainted with. As there is no such thing cannot this be challenged by complaining to ebay?
  17. Interesting idea! To help out both Kathy and I have just been EIB approved so that is one for both sides!
  18. Thanks Matthias and everyone for all their help and support! Cheers Darren! Can't wait to troop as an EIB! See you at Cardiff!
