  1. Nice job making the suggested changes- your ATA is looking good. Congrats!
  2. Congrats trooper! Earning your EIB is a great feeling!
  3. Thanks to all who contributed to the newsletter!
  4. I had this problem recently with one of my calves, but I realized it was because my calve near the ankle was trimmed a bit too tight so when I moved my ankle bone was forcing it to shift. I am going to add a shim the width of my velcro strip to give myself a bit more wiggle room. I am hoping that will help.
  5. Thanks to everyone on staff for their service!
  6. Take a look at the assembly tutorials. There are excellent details for how to assemble all of the different pieces of armor. My suggestion is to do plenty of research before you start trimming and gluing. Good luck. And feel free to post pics or ask more questions if you get stuck.
  7. I really need to get a pair of glove liners, but online they seem to come in packs of 10 or 20. Hopefully in the near future I can find/browse an Army surplus store. This sounds like a great resource.
  8. x1. Moving my snaps just a bit more forward stopped my bells from rotating. Yay! This was a real pet peeve for me, so I was glad to get it fixed!
  9. How are your shoulder bells attached to the shoulder? Mine are attached with snaps to the white elastic I have connecting my chest and back plate (underneath the ribbed shoulder ABS pieces.) One of my shoulder bells was always sneaking back / open like yours, so I moved the snap on the white elastic forward a bit. This helped close up the gap I had. See before and after pics below. ----------- -------------- Here's a link to the tutorial on how to attach your belt to your ab piece. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/tutorials/article/34-howto-attach-your-belt-to-the-ab-plate-and-drop-boxes/
  10. Sorry that you are getting frustrated! I agree with some of the other troopers that patience is important when researching, ordering, assembling, basically anything TK-related. Hang in there, and best of luck! It will all be worth it when you go out on your first troop.
  11. Yes, pics please! ... and don't worry, sometimes it takes a little time to get all the kinks worked out.
  12. +1. I am not super cautious but I do find myself moving a bit more carefully than normal. I haven't broken into dance yet. I always end up a bit stiff after a couple of hours in armor, but I think that's because my movement is a bit more limited and my posture is forced to be a bit different than I am used to?
  13. Very interesting idea! I always find this part of getting suited up annoying, so I think I will try your way on my upcoming troop.
  14. Congrats on getting it all finished. It looks great!
  15. Thumb worked well for me!
  16. Thanks for posting this in a clear format that is easy to read and understand, and thanks for everyone who put time and effort into getting this done!
  17. I just wanted to share my appreciation with everyone who posted pics and advice in this thread. It is really helpful to see what different troopers have tried. I am a very visual trooper, so this has been great!
  18. Another good read.... thanks!
  19. Thanks Aaron! I was pleased to get this costume finished. Now I need to get to work on my Sith Acolyte!
  20. Great pics Andrea! And thanks for sharing Paul. At least the TK doesn't have to clean up after a dewback.
  21. Thanks guys! I submitted my pics for approval on my birthday, March 5, and I got my official notification just a few minutes ago. "Dear Keith, I am writing on behalf of the Golden Gate Garrison of the 501st Legion to officially thank you for your additional costume submission. I have thoroughly reviewed the photos you submitted and are pleased to APPROVE your Imperial Officer: Staff Officer (ID) costume!" So my ID is now official, and I can cross that goal of my 2013 list. Woo-hoo!
  22. Sitting always seems risky, so I have avoided it so far.
  23. It's been an eventful week for my Imperial Officer build. My Merr Sonn Power 5 blaster arrived and it looks awesome. I worked with my mom to build a holster for the blaster using a thread on the IO forum. http://www.imperialofficer.com/forum/index.php?/topic/784-tutorial-build-your-own-dh-17s-holster/page__hl__holster__fromsearch__1 The build went well. It took about three hours but everything went pretty smoothly. We used a brown pleather. If I make another holster in the future, I will probably use leather because it is stiffer and will hold the weight of the blaster better. We had to reinforce the holster on the inside to keep it from buckling under the weight of the blaster. I am really pleased with how it turned out though, and I think it looks good!
  24. It's a great thread, so I am glad it's back!
