  1. I didn't have a heat gun so I used the hair dryer on my belt and thigh pack. It worked out fine, although I am sure a heat gun would'vebeen more efficient in terms of timing.
  2. Your armor is coming along nicely- good job! Seeing your pics with all of the clamps reminds me of my own build.
  3. Congrats and nice job! I like the hand painted decals and really enjoyed your willingness to listen to feedback and make changes. I wish my students were that eager for constructive feedback/criticism. Again, nice job!
  4. Hi Trooper- nice job on your ATA build! I wanted to pass on a piece of advice that I received on my ATA EIB build, and that was to decrease the size of your forearms so they aren't as big/ loose on your body. I was really pleased with how it turned out when I made this adjustment, and I think it could look good on your build too. Again, nice job and good look on earning your EIB!
  5. I never noticed any of this stuff. Thanks for posting-- fun thread to read!
  6. Nice job making the suggested changes- your ATA is looking good. Congrats!
  7. Thanks to all who contributed to the newsletter!
  8. I had this problem recently with one of my calves, but I realized it was because my calve near the ankle was trimmed a bit too tight so when I moved my ankle bone was forcing it to shift. I am going to add a shim the width of my velcro strip to give myself a bit more wiggle room. I am hoping that will help.
  9. Thanks to everyone on staff for their service!
  10. Take a look at the assembly tutorials. There are excellent details for how to assemble all of the different pieces of armor. My suggestion is to do plenty of research before you start trimming and gluing. Good luck. And feel free to post pics or ask more questions if you get stuck.
  11. I really need to get a pair of glove liners, but online they seem to come in packs of 10 or 20. Hopefully in the near future I can find/browse an Army surplus store. This sounds like a great resource.
  12. x1. Moving my snaps just a bit more forward stopped my bells from rotating. Yay! This was a real pet peeve for me, so I was glad to get it fixed!
  13. How are your shoulder bells attached to the shoulder? Mine are attached with snaps to the white elastic I have connecting my chest and back plate (underneath the ribbed shoulder ABS pieces.) One of my shoulder bells was always sneaking back / open like yours, so I moved the snap on the white elastic forward a bit. This helped close up the gap I had. See before and after pics below. ----------- -------------- Here's a link to the tutorial on how to attach your belt to your ab piece. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/tutorials/article/34-howto-attach-your-belt-to-the-ab-plate-and-drop-boxes/
  14. Sorry that you are getting frustrated! I agree with some of the other troopers that patience is important when researching, ordering, assembling, basically anything TK-related. Hang in there, and best of luck! It will all be worth it when you go out on your first troop.
  15. Yes, pics please! ... and don't worry, sometimes it takes a little time to get all the kinks worked out.
  16. +1. I am not super cautious but I do find myself moving a bit more carefully than normal. I haven't broken into dance yet. I always end up a bit stiff after a couple of hours in armor, but I think that's because my movement is a bit more limited and my posture is forced to be a bit different than I am used to?
  17. Very interesting idea! I always find this part of getting suited up annoying, so I think I will try your way on my upcoming troop.
  18. Thanks for posting this in a clear format that is easy to read and understand, and thanks for everyone who put time and effort into getting this done!
  19. I just wanted to share my appreciation with everyone who posted pics and advice in this thread. It is really helpful to see what different troopers have tried. I am a very visual trooper, so this has been great!
