Star Wars BluRay Captures - Return of The Jedi
TK3373 replied to TK_LEPER's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Its interesting how bluray shows up the difference between the matt painted troopers as opposed to the real ones. I never really paid much attention before. -
I agree, not many people would be willing to lend out a suit. I know in my garrison someone wanted to rent or borrow a suit for a 40th birthday but instead a few of the members decided to do a troop there instead. A lot less hassle.

Looking for a ROTJ pic
TK3373 replied to Darth_Finger's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Is this the one you were referring to? Or something similar? -
Thanks for the info. So helmets such as AP, ATA, CAPW, TE2 etc are acceptable for EI and Centurion as long as they meet the requirements of that particular crl, ie ANH, ESB, ROTJ?
-
Not wanting to open a can of worms, but according to the CRL's for Expert Infrantryman and Centurion status is says ANHv2 helmets not allowed. I am not familiar with these helmets, are they derived from the old FX helmet? I wanted to clarify that as per the CRL, ANHv2 doesnt mean derived from ANH helmet such as TE2, ATA, AP CAPW etc. Is this correct? Cheers Scott

I wasnt interested in buying it at all, but it annoyed me that people get away with this sort of thing. Hopefully no one will be sucked into this.

Hi Guys, I saw this on fleaby and wondered if this auction was for real. http://cgi.ebay.com/master-replicas-storm-trooper-helmet-prototype-/170656812481?pt=UK_Collectables_SciFi_fantasyCollectables_EH&hash=item27bbf04dc1 They want 1500.00 GBP for but to me it looks like an unfinished AP helmet.

Not sure what the differences are in ESB helmets but you should head over to star wars helmets.com they have extensive information regarding helmets from the star wars universe.

I am not much of a conniseur of ANH TK armour but man that suit looks awesome. -
A Tsunami warning was issued for New Zealand northern east coast and was due to his earlier this morning. According the news the initial waves were about 15cm high and increased from about 8.30am to 30-40cm. I havent heard any reports of damage. We have just had a devasting 6.3 earthquake in my region last month, which was not as big as the one recorded in Japan. My thoughts go out to those people in Northern Japan. Stay safe. Scott TK-3373

ROTJ strapping system question
TK3373 replied to dashrazor's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
As far as I am aware there's no rivets on the ROTJ TK armour connecting the back and ab plate together. The belt seems to hold them together, supported by the suspenders holding up the armour. If you head on over to star wars helmets site there is a topic about a screen used ROTJ suit with this photo showing the strapping of sorts. You can see there is a suspender type system. -
ROTJ shoulder straps: What were they made of?
TK3373 replied to Sonnenschein's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
I never noticed this before, but the tour helmet has a huge chunk carved out of the bottom part of it. Maybe it was made for getting the thing on easier. -
Thats standard FX armour which is no longer produced by the orginal maker, but still worn by a lot of TKs. If you get it you might want to ditch the helmet and get a more screen accurate one as they are oversized.

MY STEALTH ARMOR IS FINISHED!
TK3373 replied to Blastmaster's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Well done man. Thats the nicest looking TX armor I have ever seen. -
That article was in our local paper in NZ. I thought I new all the TK's in my area. Big ups to her though.
-
Thats a nice suit you have there. Dont know too much about PT armour. Good luck with the build.
-
That thought had crossed my mind.

Caleb has sold me the set of armour in question. I didnt realise it was so significant. I am looking forward to receiving the suit more than ever. Scott

TK 3066 Requesting EIB status, ROTJ[105][TE]
TK3373 replied to Trooper Q2's topic in Request Expert Infantry Status
There is a guy on Fleabay selling trim by the metre. I enquired as I was after some myself. He seems nice and is based in Argentina. I was going to order at least 3 metres for my kit. -
Which armor blends best with FX?
TK3373 replied to TK-5069's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
I had an RT mod helmet when I had my FX kit and it is a good match, as per my Avatar photo. -

That kit looks awesome. I hope to do a ROTJ build in the near future. Just as soon as my kit arrives. -
VT Helmet Build[*VT]
TK3373 replied to Discharged_Mindriot's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
I now want some armour..... dammit... any real cheap but decent quality suggestions? Sine you already have a VT helmet why not go with VT armour? I beleive the VT kit is a different shade of white to most other armours out there. Good luck with your build. -
I have imported armour to NZ and have not yet had a problem with import duty or customs "touch wood". The item description always says costume parts or something similar. I am sure if it said Stormtrooper Armour I might get lumbered with import duties though.

I hope it was for charity. I personally dont like clips of dancing troopers.
