  1. As far as I am aware there's no rivets on the ROTJ TK armour connecting the back and ab plate together. The belt seems to hold them together, supported by the suspenders holding up the armour. If you head on over to star wars helmets site there is a topic about a screen used ROTJ suit with this photo showing the strapping of sorts. You can see there is a suspender type system.
  2. I never noticed this before, but the tour helmet has a huge chunk carved out of the bottom part of it. Maybe it was made for getting the thing on easier.
  3. Thats standard FX armour which is no longer produced by the orginal maker, but still worn by a lot of TKs. If you get it you might want to ditch the helmet and get a more screen accurate one as they are oversized.
  4. Well done man. Thats the nicest looking TX armor I have ever seen.
  5. Thats an awesome looking ESB suit you have there man. Look like you just stepped off the set of Empire.
  6. Well done man. That ROTJ suit looks awesome. I cant wait until I finish mine.
  7. That article was in our local paper in NZ. I thought I new all the TK's in my area. Big ups to her though.
  8. Thats a nice suit you have there. Dont know too much about PT armour. Good luck with the build.
  9. Wow. I dont think I have seen so many TK's in one place before. Well done UKG.
  10. That thought had crossed my mind.
  11. Caleb has sold me the set of armour in question. I didnt realise it was so significant. I am looking forward to receiving the suit more than ever. Scott
  12. There is a guy on Fleabay selling trim by the metre. I enquired as I was after some myself. He seems nice and is based in Argentina. I was going to order at least 3 metres for my kit.
  13. I had an RT mod helmet when I had my FX kit and it is a good match, as per my Avatar photo.
  14. That kit looks awesome. I hope to do a ROTJ build in the near future. Just as soon as my kit arrives.
  15. I now want some armour..... dammit... any real cheap but decent quality suggestions? Sine you already have a VT helmet why not go with VT armour? I beleive the VT kit is a different shade of white to most other armours out there. Good luck with your build.
  16. I have imported armour to NZ and have not yet had a problem with import duty or customs "touch wood". The item description always says costume parts or something similar. I am sure if it said Stormtrooper Armour I might get lumbered with import duties though.
  17. I hope it was for charity. I personally dont like clips of dancing troopers.
  18. Excellent work on your ROTJ build. I am sure you will be an inspiriation to others wanting to do the same.
  19. I dont think it matters what hand you hold the blaster in. ANH and ESB seem to switch hands and in ROTJ are left handed. As long as the holster is on the correct side as in the movies. I am a leftie and prefer holding my blaster in my left hand.
  20. I couldnt get my birthday either so I used the year I was born 73 and put the day I was born 3rd and added another 3 so it became TK 3373.
  21. Also regarding the thighs, for my armour I made a belt suspender system similar to what you mention using webbing material. A set of snaps on the end of straps then connect to my thighs which keep them from falling down. Hope this helps.
  22. This is how I attached my hand plates By using an elastic strap with a snap to the handplate. Cheers
  23. Wow. Just last week I had someone ask if they could rent my TK armour from me for a party. I was a little skeptical as I had spent a lot of time on my kit. I ended up saying no. I told them it wasnt the sort of costume to be used for social gatherings.
  24. These conversions look great. Here's what I did with mine a year ago.
  25. Nobody's mentioned ESB where the stormies where the holster on the right but most carry the blaster in the left hand as the pic below. As a leftie it wouldnt be too much hassle to cross draw the blaster from the right hand holster as the mag would be on the outside with the handle facing forward.
