  1. Credit goes to the both of you... Paul has some exceptional skills into making that replica, but when you wore it, it took it to another level. I just hope that i can come close to what you and Paul had built. I may PM you about somethings if thats alright with you Stephen.. Thanks Karin, I cant wait to see them awesome hand guards
  2. Thanks guys, i appreciate the encouraging words... Dont worry Steve, i got the regular hand guards, not the alternative ones..
  3. So I have began the exciting journey to replicate Luke's armor from A New Hope. I have recently acquired a 1.5mm TM armor from a great chap here on the boards (thanks DarthChandler). I am very excited to begin this build which has been a dream for quite sometime... Other than the uniqueness in details of Luke's armor, my posture would fit perfectly into this armor as I'm always getting comments, aren't you short for a stormtrooper? I want t take this moment to thank Paul for creating such great set of armor, every single detail on it is mind blowing. So hats off to the Troopermaster himself. Thank you Paul.... I also want to thank Stephen (SW1) of the UKG for sharing his thread on his awesome, hella accurate Luke suit. It has been an inspiration, and i still cry myself to sleep looking at that thread. I will try to replicate Luke's armor down to the last detail, although there are still a few things that i question, hoping that you more experienced folks could help me through the process. I've gotten all the accurate strapping for the suit as well, just need to find a comlink and grappling hook for the belt. Original boots as you may you are very hard to find, so that might take some time. I want to talk a little bit about the uniqueness of Luke's armor and differences from other suits, in hoping that if i have missed something, you guys would let me know. I've been stuffing myself with reference photos, screen caps and watching A New Hope frame by frame. Helmet: Of course Luke has the most unique lid of all, starting with the lowbrow, which happens to be my favorite part of the suit. The helmet also has equal number of stripes on each side of the helmet. 13 tube stripes on each side, 8 stripes on the tears, and left rear trap has 11 stripes and right rear traps has 13 stripes. ( please correct me if I'm wrong on this) Torso: Thanks to the blue ray bonus material, we were able to see how Luke's upper part of the armor was assembled, unlike other armors, Luke's just had elastics holding the chest and back to the abs and kidney, while the kidney still uses the bracket strapping to the butt plate. One thing I've also noticed is that Luke's armor had very minimal return edge on most of his armor, his chest had no return edge whatsoever. One thing I've been wondering is if the bottom of his back plate still has the return edge, because from what I'm seeing, it seem to be cut off as well. Belt : Aside from having the comlink, grappling hook replacing the detonator, one other thing i see is that luke only has 2 belt squares instead of 3. He seems to be missing the middle one, i thought that might of it fallen off after the trash compactor scene, but during the detention block scenes, it was missing the square from then. I would think that if it did fall off, you would be able to see the cap rivet that holds the ammo belt to the belt itself, but it seems very clean. Luke also had thicker drop boxes than usual. (No middle belt squares, and thick drop boxes) Arms: I have not seen hooks on the biceps like Han has on his, so i probably wont add that. it was also mentioned to me that Luke had doubled forearms. as for the hand guards, i just got Karin's authentic line ANH hand guards which will go perfect with this build. Thighs: Luke also has his upper left thigh over trimmed that is also detail which makes his armor very unique. I will also try my best to replicate this feature into the replica. This is just a few things that I've found researching on the forums, other peoples builds, reference photos and watching the movie frame by frame. I am sure there are other unique things yet to be discovered. I will try my best to document each and every process along the way.... and hopefully you guys can help me get this replica to 100% screen accuracy. On to the armor itself, here is a few pics after unboxing the wonderful 1.5mm TM armor.... So that all i have for now, should be an exciting couple of weeks ahead of me, and I'm hoping that you would join me in this journey to make one awesome looking replica.. Thanks again FISD.... Cheers.... Reza
  4. I am definitely in for a pair.... These look awesome!!!
  5. agreed....this is an awesome build. just a few little tweaks and you're there... Good luck..
  6. Woohoooo...... Congrats Steve!!!! Best of luck
  7. The TK they have displayed at the Tech Museum is an ROTJ, since you have an RS and the only way to go is ANH or ESB, very different methods to build an ROTJ. But even the TK at the Tech Museum isnt all screen used, only the plastic parts are. But im happy to have more TK's in the GGG. Let us know if you need any help.. Cheers....
  8. WOW.....that looks stunning. Well done mate!!!! now lets see some suited up pictures...
  9. you could contact him on facebook..
  10. Yessssss!!!! Another GGG Centurion. Congrats mate, well done.
  11. I have both RS PVC and ABS, all the comments above are very true. If you're looking for something that will take a beating, then go with the PVC, yes the material is a lot more shinny than the ABS but it will handle many upon many troops. If you're looking for screen accuracy, then ABS it is, i love the yellowy color of the ABS. I'm not saying that ABS is more fragile than PVC, but PVC is a lot more durable. As for comfort, id say their about the same, depends on how you trim it to fit your body, you can make it comfortable. But in most times, it wont be. But that wont matter once you put it on, you will always love being in armor. So either way is good depending on your main goals for the armor. I hope that helps shine a light a little on your decision. Cheers.....
  12. Congratulations trooper.... Well done!
  13. I completely agree with you that every armor has its own uniqueness, as i said before, he doesn't have to rip out the ammo belt, just trim the flashing plastic. it will definitely make the look better and more like armors that did survive in the archives.
  14. Congratulations mate!!!!! now off to EIB and Centurion...
  15. Yup, it doesnt look like a Tantive IV boarding party TK all white and shinny like that..... Cant wait to see it all weathered up. Again well done mate....Absolutely stunning!!!
  16. mine was approved with overlap, so it shouldn't be a problem.
  17. Absolutely stunning.... man i wish i was your height. you wear it perfectly..... it turned out awesome. A++++++ i cant to see it all finished up.
  18. This is one fantastic looking armor. If i could make one small suggestion, the position of the rivet on the thigh ammo seem a little off. But i think you can just trim the excess plastic on the end of the ammo pack (seems you have plenty of room to work on) and make the rivet more towards the corner. Just my two cents, other than that, this is an awesome build. Good luck...
