  1. I absolutely loved this movie. I loved all the nods to the OT and I didn't feel anything rushed. I enjoyed the pacing and I enjoyed they left a lot of questions and story line open for the next films. The comedic relief was well done and I was literally at the edge of my seat with a Cheshire cat grin the whole time. I will be taking my daughter probably next weekend or so once the theater isn't a complete mad house to watch it again. It is definitely an exciting time to be a part of this great legion and see what some of you brilliant people will make costumes of next. That cantina scene introduced quite a bit of options alone. Jannick read my white text: starkiller base is a planet not a flying death star. The weapon was built into the core of the planet.
  2. My GML said it has been taking around 3 days after he makes approvals but this week is also a bit special. Even though I saw the movie last night (OMG it was awesome, am I right?!) it would mean the world to me to get my legion ID on the official premiere date.
  3. Did you get a trimmed or untrimmed. I am so impatient I would just tell him don't trim it and send it ASAP lol
  4. Not familiar with Baytrooper unless you mean Trooperbay Mike's MTK kit which is what I have. For some of the soft parts and other accessories, please check the ongoing sales thread here. The vast majority of members selling things do so at cost only and are very reasonable. Congratulations on the new armor!
  5. That's pretty smart! I have a Honda Civic so I don't know if I can fit a large container in my trunk either. Once I get my pack I'll have to either bungee it on top or my box or take up my backseats.Very cleaver handle!
  6. After taking near a year to build my armor, I didn't even want to bother assembling a blaster or soft parts so I just paid
  7. That's asking for an early death
  8. I believe you well deserve a FISD kudos. First CPT Phasma to walk the red carpet premier or something along those lines!
  9. You'll probably get yours before the ANOVOS people LOL... shots fired!
  10. Ugh... dang time differences! Can't wait for 9pm tonight
  11. Thanks, Tony! What is the realistic time frame 501st sends out IDs? I know the website says up to 3 weeks but I'm almost as excited about getting my legion ID as I am seeing TFA tonight.
  12. Mike probably got tired of me ordering extra sheets of ABS 2 different times. Now finish that bucket trooper!
  13. Correct me if i'm wrong but you're a veteran, right? I last went 5 years ago but I bought hopper passes for Disney World for $99 a piece. If you have access to a military base and can go to the travel center usually in the PX, they can get you the best prices. Not really sure about Disney Land but Disney World has the Shades of Green resort for military and veterans.
  14. Whew!!!!! After way too many hours and suiting up just to take it off because something wasn't to my expectations, I finally got approved! This past Monday I suited up and my wife said "we are going to get this done TONIGHT so I can get my kitchen back (became my work area for the majority of the build)." Since I don't have a pack yet, my GML wanted my left hip MP40 pouch on my left shoulder. I tried nylon and elastic and I just could not get it to sit right. I knew that I would never wear it like this again so riveting it to my pauldron or something other extreme I've read here was not an option. My lovely wife made the overlooked suggestion of just taping it on for the pictures. That was a big duh moment. One thing that got me rejected my first attempt was my biceps. I have them larger in the rear but they still wouldn't go any higher. I was forced to gap the front as well just enough where the 15mm cover strip would cover. Luckily, weathering does a good job at concealing the extra ridge line. My GML didn't necessarily want them in my armpits but my shoulder bells were barely covering the top. I am short so I have short arms as well and couldn't for the life of me figure out what was wrong. Another pro-tip is for the shoulder straps. My shoulder bell elastic tended to pull my elastic shoulder straps pretty bad. I made another set but used two pieces and sewn them together. It almost has the strength of canvas but still has some elasticity. My first shot also had some gap from the back to kidney, so I replaced the strapping with nylon instead. There are still some things hear and there I will tweak like the thigh foam block pushing my right thigh out too much. I'll be getting a pack and probably giving a whole paycheck to ukswrath in the beginning of the new year once my bank account recovers from Christmas. I'm still waiting on my legion ID and have been checking my email every 5 minutes for the past few days! If you want to see my library with all the pics: Attempt 1 for approval and up close pics: http://s1111.photobucket.com/user/invaderjason/library/Approval%20Photos%20for%20GML Attempt 2 that got me approved: http://s1111.photobucket.com/user/invaderjason/library/Approval%20Attempt%202
  15. That's the same type of leather pauldron us sandies use except it doesn't have the channeled stitching. The texture of my white pauldron looks just like that.
  16. I've used ABS paste for thigh shims and on the ab plate where I accidentally drilled a hole in the wrong place and you can't even tell.
  17. What is that on the top of his back? Almost looks like a hook or something
  18. All you guys who are paving the way for future TFA costumers deserve to be there. Clint's armor and craftsmanship speak for itself.
  19. Perks of being in the So Cal garrison and having phenomenal armor I suppose. I bet that must have been an amazing experience
  20. I took my approval photos last night and I also have to rethink my helmet padding. Currently using the hard hat liner but my pauldron pushes my helmet in an awkward position. My face was mashed up against the front of the helmet and I could hardly see. I need to have my kids dance on my pauldron to break the leather in and do what you did and improvise some padding. Your armor is looking fantastic!
  21. A little ABS paste will fix this. Get a glass jar and add some abs scraps and add some acetone. Mix with a craft stick and let it sit for a little bit until it turns into a almost creamy texture. Apply that where you need it and let it sit overnight.
  22. Would definitely like to see that chrome pop in some natural lighting. It already looks amazing!
  23. Without chest, yoke, TD and belt makes for an interesting halloween costume. Congrats on the awesome FOTK! Definitely setting the bar for future troopers.
  24. Do they have this at Disney World too or is this a *land only exhibit? Plenty of FL members can grab some photos if possible.
