  12. I'd recomend that method , I've just had to reinforce an area on my old TE HDPE helmet using this method and it worked a treat
  13. Just before xmas I managed to aquire an old bumpy cap HDPE helmet made by TE from a chap on the UKG boards. It was painted up in ESB scheme but sometime in it's past it had been messed around with . At some point it had been taken apart and reassembled ( badly ) with a really low brow , also I think that the ears had been changed. So I've decided to chart my progress refurbishing this classic lid and get it back to it's former glory. Here is how the helmet looked at the start , these were pics taken by it's former owner. The brow's a little too low and the ears just look all wrong. First off I got rid of those ears , there's almost no deffinition to them at all. I couldn't resist picking at the paintwork and flaking all the loose paint away , lol . Anyway I have disassembled the helmet and put it back together with a raised brow and put on a new set of ears. I have also taken off all the stickers which took off a lot of paintwork too. Here is how it's looking now. Next step is sanding and flaking away as much of the old paint as possible. More to follow soon !
  14. Tip from a glazier...... Be aware that if you are using a sealent such as bathroom or glazing silicone , that paint will not stick to it if you are repainting the lid. Flexable decorators caulk would be the better option , as it's paintable. To smooth out either silicone and caulk I always find that just licking my finger and smoothing always works well. A

  16. OMG , that is such a sweet looking bucket. Top class workmanship !
  17. Here's some pics of my bucket I have made it all removeable just in case I fancy swapping lids.... This is the back , rom-fx , 2 x 4AA battery holders and a 9v battery clip ------------ The front , 2 x fans , 9v switchable battery box and mic for the rom-fx. The speakers for the sound are Stompers aereators which are freakin awsome ! ---------- Most of the wires are run around the helmet inside the undertrim --------- Andy.

  20. I thought some of you may be interested in these pics. I was going through some old photo albums last week and I came across these pics of the stormtrooper tour suits . If I remember rightly these pics were taken in the early 90's poss 1992. They were at a shopping center in Bournemouth UK, there were a couple of Stormtroopers a vader and 2 imperial officers , it was part of a promotional tour around the UK , they even had a full size X-wing on the back of a trailer. The pics are not the best quality as I have had to scan them onto the computer. I do have a couple more with the Xwing and vader which I can scan if anyone is interested in seeing them. Enjoy the snaps
