you sir are a genius! check this out https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1168707 a script that can generate a hex mesh for 3D printing. Might be cheaper than a $50 +shipping from the UK. I just set it up to generate a strip 100mm x 15mm with 2mm hex. But it seems like its going to take forever to render so I can save it as an STL

It was just confusing reading this thread and seeing EX discussions instead of stuff about a plain Jane TK im just stuck on the whole frown mesh thing still and hopefully my GML will get an answer after the movie of the mesh of the screen used buckets is actually cut out or cast into the helmet since the CRL line about the frown mesh was interpreted by him to have the teeth cut out and mesh installed behind.

yeah, the CRL posted her confuses me since its for the executioner and I am trying to figure out the whole mesh in the frown deal. BSP didn't put mesh in the teeth cutouts so im kind of up a creek CRL wise and I dont want to cut the teeth out.

look into liquid latex. You can pick it up at most art supply stores.I used it on my shoretrooper for weathering and tried to use it for masking but it was difficult to clean up.

I guess I might have to order a bucket from Phoenix props since I jumped the gun and got a BSP.

I was going to buy frown mesh from trooper bay. I do have a 3d printer but I can't get that fine of a detail. I emailed my detachments GML for clarification on that line. I'm hoping I can just cut out and glue mesh behind like we do with the classic TK. it's all black, no one will notice it.

So where can I find the hex mesh to match? I paid well for this bucket and now I'm a little upset BSP missed that detail

BSP does not have the honey comb in the teeth area. I think KB's does Also I think the helmet used for the CRL is a Jimi bucket, which has the mesh molded into it. Dang it BSP

I needed another project like I need a hole in my head! But I sold off my ShoreTrooper and decided ita time for something clean and pristine. I'm very happy the new FOTK in TLJ has a better bucket that is more true to its origin and I ordered a lid from BSP and I am very impressed at its quality and lightness. Compredto my shoretrooper bucket this thing will not give me a headache after wearing for a long time i was reading the CRL and it states the frown has to have black mesh behind it. So I guess I have to cut them out and use the mesh that's available? Im also going to be different when it comes to painting. I'm hoping to use the same brand of paint I used for my ShoreTrooper, Montana Gold. It's amazing the quality you get when you stop using krylon or rustoleum grade crap. I've got a can of black at home. Hopefully my test is successful and I can use these paints on my armor. They worked out beautifully on my shore. also, I uploaded these from my phone and they were fine on the mobile version of the forum but now on my laptop I see they are rotated.. thanks iphone...

I think Satin Ivory is the closest we will get in the USA.

what you did for the texturing on the helmet is ingenious! I hope to find the same stuff here in the US so I can attempt the same. I might use something else for the paint chips.

Valspar Blue Heron (in the UK) is the blue you want to use. but if you're in the US then Design Master Blue Sky Satin or Krylon Peakaboo Blue are the blues you want to start off with. The base armor color he has looks spot on though.
