  1. Happy birthday, dude! *puts cone-shaped party hat on your bucket*
  2. XD Never thought my eyes would become trained enough to tell which armors are crappy and which aren't, and well... Rubies made it easy for me. That being said, I want that Admiral Ackbar singing fish.
  3. Once again, more evidence for why I need to go hi-def... Thanks for the screenies! (Slave Leia. 'Nuff said.)
  4. XD That's a good idea, Keith! Good luck with the missus, man. Not sure how much stress will be saved making my armor seeing as I'm single myself Either way, enjoy the new armor.
  5. Either way, glad to have you back in action Pat. Could you do an armor build thread regardless of which type? :3 Good luck with the new armor and going Centurion! -Aidan
  6. I must say, having re-read this newsletter, that it was put together extremely well and the Detachment, with each new newsletter, becomes more impressive and inspiring. Thanks for putting it together, and I wish to extend my condolences to Gary's family. Though I never met him, he sounds like he was an outstanding guy and I regret never getting the opportunity to troop with him. May he and Ralph rest in peace. With unquestioned loyalty, Aidan
  7. Either way it's all good, you'd still be trooping with the finest Legion this side of the galaxy. I personally prefer the color black over white, but the original Stormtroopers over Shadowtroopers. Guess it's because, as Rich stated, TKs were in the original movies, and the only thing I've seen the Shadowtrooper in is The Force Unleashed, IIRC. I'd make it my second set of armor though, definitely. No matter which, you'll have a blast. Good luck, Rob! -Aidan
  8. Welcome back! Enjoy the new armor.
  9. Set up an account on Garrison Tyranus forums as I'm currently on the East Coast. Hit me up there!

  10. Congratulations, sir!
  11. That looks amazing! Didn't even know there would be lithographies of Ep I 3D, there you have it. Wish I were able to give an estimate and purchase it, though I don't have the money for it at the moment. Good luck, Jani!
  12. That's odd. Wish I could help but I haven't gotten the chance to buy anything from TrooperBay yet. Best of luck!

    Woot T-shirt

Really? I did not know that. Thanks for the insight!

    Woot T-shirt

That is indeed a wootastic t-shirt. A question I keep asking myself though is, would a stormtrooper's aim be better or worse without the body armor on? O_o
  15. *waiting for job applications to pan out so I can get the necessary jack* *rocks back and forth whimpering* >_< At least I can come on here once every few days to get my Legion fix. Researching and talking with other prospectives/members is a lot of fun in itself, isn't it? Just need to figure out the assembly process... *rubs chin*
  16. That's a beautiful bucket, James, clean on the inside yet not lacking in electronics. I am thoroughly jealous. I'd say cost of materials + conservative estimate for labor + whatever profit you need to get +/- insurance/shipping costs, but then again I've never sold one either. Best of luck!
  17. Starting to line up a set of armor... any ideas on ESB Stunt/Hero ABS armor that fits 6ft2in, 140lb with a bit of padding, let me know

  18. Where'd the tiny Derringer-like blaster come from then?
  19. I've noticed that overrun on my copy of FirefoxPortable 11.0, so I'm with you there, the rest I don't seem to be having. It could be the compatiblity mode or IE itself, but I'm not an expert on it. Hope your issues get sorted out, Brent. I wish I could help out a fellow Bothellite.
  20. I wish I could provide assistance, but the only military familiarity I have is that three of my family members were in the Navy, one was a WWII vet and I'm trying to get my affairs in order to talk to a recruiter myself, so I don't have much for ya. That being said, I wish you the best of luck in the civilian world and thank you so much for your service, Clay. Also, Oak Harbor is beautiful, I am full of envy. -Aidan
  21. I'm with you in spirit, Mark. I have no cash on hand at the moment to make my OWN first set of armor and am pretty much forcing myself to look for part-time jobs, take CLEPs and talk to recruiters at the moment to finally bring some financial flexibility into my life. But you can do plenty to prepare for the 501st without cash, thanks to the online resources all of us troopers have these days. I'm making a personal archive of information to consult when I finally get my armor and blaster parts, as well as offering a helping hand to friends of mine on Facebook who wish to join the Legion as well. While it may be a smaller contribution to the 501st, learning, educating others and promoting the Legion is just as important as trooping, after all. I wish you tons of luck, man. Keep your chin up and you'll be polishing your armor post-troop before you know it!
  22. A. For "Sharp" I actually meant aliased. It could also be that the monitor this computer uses is a 16:9 one set to run in 4:3. It's not my computer so I can't really adjust the monitor's settings to my preference, but it doesn't matter much in the long run. B. Possibly. I'm not exactly running vanilla Firefox as it's both a portable version and it's also set up with NoScript, Flashblock and a custom theme set. But to my knowledge only NoScript could possibly have caused something affecting fonts as it's the only addon I've installed that deals with webpage scripting. I've also allowed all external permissions with the exception of Facebook's integration into this website (Under NoScript's permissions menu both google.com and whitearmor.net are allowed to load scripts, facebook.net isn't allowed.) I'm sure that under normal operation on my desktop computer the issues I've mentioned wouldn't show up at all, but I'm on extended vacation at the moment so I have to use my dad's computer. EIther way, they're just observations and don't make it impossible to enjoy the new site theme, so I won't worry about it very much.
  23. God, that's a nice blaster. Makes me feel lazy for wanting to start out with a simple Hasbro conversion. Keep up the good work, Marv.
  24. I like the new theme, looks far more Empire-y than I first thought! However, the background can be a little busy and it makes looking at the user listing at the bottom of the page a bit difficult. Also, it may be that I'm just using Windows XP, but even though font smoothing is active under Control Panel > System > Advanced > Performance, the fonts seem slightly too sharp. Also it's odd that the first character of the titles of each section of the page (such as "Reply to this topic", "Also tagged with...") seem to be in bold. Was that intentional or is my browser playing tricks on me (FirefoxPortable 11.0)?
  25. Can't wait to join the ranks myself Keith! You'll have to take pictures, alright?
