  1. Absolutely. I'm beside myself with how friendly and excepting this group of people is. Even though I'm already having a blast talking to other troopers and candidates I can't wait to see how large a part the 501st will ultimately have in my life. (In short: this is gonna be awesome.) -Aidan
  2. I'm sure some of them know that native Japanese people do hold rank in the Japanese Garrison. At least, I hope so... That's gotta be an interesting dilemma even when not in armor! I've been idly considering moving to Japan in the future for years, how did you break that language barrier anyhow? On Topic: Pretty much all positions on masking women's voices I can agree with. Overall, it depends on the balance between wanting to conform to the character and wanting to break loose and be free in expressing yourself inside the Legion so I guess it depends on the individual person. I'm glad that, being a male, I don't have to worry about that issue, but then again I'm sure I'll run into several other issues when it comes to whether I want to disguise my voice, add mic static effects to it and what-have-you. In the end, regardless of gender, we're all in it together when it comes to acting the part and having fun while we do it, and I'm proud of that!
  3. Thanks very much, Mathias! Hope they last a long time, Keith. You probably just saved me several hours (and dollars!) of searching on Zappos or some other shoe site. Hopefully they'll work out for me too. -Aidan
  4. Those are awesome, man! Exactly the type I'd want to get. You have a link to TKBoots handy by any chance?
  5. Though I'm still very new at all this (and I've known Paul for even less time) I have to give my sincere appreciation for all the incredible work Paul has put into the FISD, Garrison Titan and the Legion as a whole. Though I've not met him in person, I believe Paul has proven himself to be respectful, courteous, understanding and patient to an amazing degree. As much as a newbie I am NOW, after lurking on the forums on and off for about a year, I was even more overwhelmed with all of the details and aspects to the 501st before Daetrin came along, gave me a virtual handshake and some guidance for starting out. He also helped out a close friend of mine who was also considering entering the Legion, and to this day, even though his personal life has put membership on hold for the moment, he still lets me know how impressed he is with the Legion, Garrison Titan and the FISD. Were it not for Daetrin's advice, it is possible my friend could have ended up being too overwhelmed with it all and just gave up. Thanks to him, it doesn't look like that'll happen, which is awesome! Though it could be simply that the 501st Legion is a more respectful community than most, being made up of volunteers who really enjoy their work, I honestly didn't expect the man in charge, who I'd imagine to have far more work on his plate than most of us, to have such a kind spirit even when talking to the greenest recruits. It reflects very well on Paul's personality, and if it were possible for me to have known him longer I am certain my perspective on his character would not change. Hats off to you, sir! I look forward to trooping someday with you, Paul. Thank you, again, for all you've done. Sorry if all the praise is over-the-top, I'm not that great at writing to-the-point. -Aidan
  6. Thanks for the heads-up!
  7. RIP Ralph McQuarrie. Thank you for your brilliant artwork!

  8. Ralph McQuarrie, on behalf of Star Wars fans and other fans of your work all over the world, I can safely say that your mastery of concept artistry helped define generations, influence the world in a positive manner and reach out to everyone. You, your work and your spirit will not be forgotten. As a potential member of the 501st I can say I'm honored to consider joining an organization you are very much a vital part of. Your art design is part of the reason why I am such a large Star Wars fan, a part of art history that inspires me and may have formed my fascination with the arts. So I suppose I should thank you for that as well. May your rest in peace. -Aidan
  9. Where did you even see the names of the TKs in SW:BFII? Would it have been in the in-game scoreboard? I never really took a look at that... XD Too busy killing Rebel traitors.
  10. I'm in a similar sitch, Jim. I'm only at 140-ish lbs. when a guy of my stature (6'2"-6'3") averages out to at least 170, maybe more. I used to be even skinnier, around 120-130, but luckily I guess I've started to grow out. Pretty sure my metabolism and eating habits are to blame, and when I get a chance I plan to start lifting weights to gain muscle mass to make up for it. You're not alone, brother.
  11. Thank you, Paul (Daetrin aka TK-8020) for serving the past 5 years as Detachment Leader of the First Imperial Stormtrooper Detachment. Your commitment, sense of duty and steadfast, wise leadership has made the FISD, the 501st Legion and Garrison Titan more committed to serving the Empire and the planet Earth than if you had not taken up the position. I may not have been witness to the entire length of your Detachment Leader "term"(my mind draws a blank on the correct term for your, er, tenure as Detachment Leader), but I am confident early on you were just as friendly, courteous and competent as you've shown yourself to be during the entire (short) time I've known you. There's a rumor going around that Lord Vader's looking for another second-in-command, you should look into it. All the same, Mason (DashRazor aka TK-4603), congratulations on being elected Detachment Leader of the FISD. May your armor never crack. Under your leadership I hope the FISD and the 501st Legion may continue to make this planet a better place to live for all of us. Long Live The Empire! -Aidan
  12. Getting stuff done in my private life, still committed to joining FISD via Garrison Titan/Tyranus.
