  4. Congratulations Trooper Now the real fun begins
  5. AP could be the set for you, Im a shorty too (5'6") theres a bit of room in the ab and kidney but you could always add shims if you need more. Or then theres RS and TM if you want more room plus uber accuracy Heres my AP
  6. Very nice
  7. I did something similar but the straps are adjustable so they can be tweaked on the fly for the best fit.
  8. Yeah for trooping purposes you have to draw the line somewhere in that respect everyone's armor is idealized to some extent. I'll admit that at first I wasn't a fan of the bumpy cap and back but the more Ive learned about the original props the more Ive come to love the eccentricities of the screen accurate look. So much so that Im planning on my next build to be a warts and all reproduction, Well almost, I still wont be going with the chipped paint HDPE look on the helmet or using gaffa tape on the armour .
  9. I love all those details personally. Its all those little things that give the suit its character !
  10. Good idea! I never thought of designing armour to go with it
  11. They're all still in the workshop as far as I know . Every now and then they get displayed around the college promote the model making course
  12. (better check this is the correct section this time ) I stumbled apon these pics when i was clearing my PC of clutter today and I thought some of you might like to see them This is one of the first projects I undertook at college last year. Hes 25:1 scale carved from blue poly foam then skinned in jesmonite before being painted in 3PO's signature gold. This was a joint effort as part of a sort of ice breaker project to get the team used to working together. I was responsible for the head which i carved by hand using a scalpel and also the decal work Here are the rest of the not so minifigs too, the TK, batman, explorer and Boba where made by the previous years class but unfortunately I don't seem to have any further pics of them.

Everyone has pretty much covered it ! I had the same problem for quite a while but you just have to take the chance and try some things out, you'll soon discover what works for you and what doesn't. Adults and older kids get a kick out of you acting like a soldier or a cop around them, asking them if they have a permit to film, if they have noticed any droids, and that kinda thing. Because smaller kids are usually quite timid normally I'll just say hello, ask them what their name is and shake their hand or give them a high five, you just wanna try and appear as unthreatening as possible towards them. Unless they assume the attack position with a toy blaster, then you can have some fun with it Just act the way you would imagine a TK would in any given situation and you wont go far wrong. And most importantly, have fun ! Its amazing how willing the public can be to go along with the act as long as you don't force it.
  19. Yeah the teeth could use a wee bit more work, the eyes are looking good though ! For the vocoder and black striping I used Humbrol gloss 21 Heres Billy's handy paint guide ----------
