replica M39 scope from EvolutionProps.com

One should think they would not start with the wrong material from the beginning. If going with metal casting, the accurate way would be brass casting. -

For a plastic or toy E-11, i would use a nice coldcast resinscope, and for a real Sterlingbuild of course only a real scope. Real M38 are way more cheaper than real M19. -

Anovos TK armor preorder
Lichtbringer replied to bearings's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
I plan to go, if possible due to job/time - but definately not costumed. -
Paul, it doesn´t matter if i agree.
-
I can´t agree. Even it wouldn´t be the way I would choose, it would only be fair if the yesterdays standards would give access for the new applicants, too (as long as they are still OK for the earlier applicants). Now, someone has not the freedom to choose the armor he wants (be it cause he is gifted a Marco, or grabbed a FX at a yard sale) - he is forced to spend a certain amount of money into some peoples pockets for the newer and now acceptable plastic-suits, even if that may be much more expensive to him. Only to find himself at a Con/Parade/whatever next to a guy who walks in that stuff he might have gotten cheap, but he was forced to spend more. Fair would be to accept what was once acceptable, AND additional encourage them to strive for higher. (If they ask before buying, off course. This site offers a great knowledge to those who want to learn and are able to follow through.) But someone shouldn´t be punished for being late to the party.

Not for me - i prefer a grumpy honest comment always over pc blabla.
-
Oh, if i would be the emperor .... i could. And to be honest, i definately would. That, or let the later folks be accepted with the same low standards. All treated equal. That´s the way i would look at it as one of those pesky rebels. I would prefer the system "upgrade, or be informal from date X" - but not such double standards. (Not talking TFA armor alone, my opinion is equal on all these CRLs, if something is no longer acceptable, all earlier participants should be also no longer accepted, until they meet the new standards again.) Everything else is unfair handled, no matter if the average Joe will notice it.
-
Something i will never understood. Why force later participants to a higher standard, and on the same train let the early adopters still be acceptable with now known inferior stuff? That´s a bad situation of double standards. If something is that bad it´s no longer acceptable for new applications, it also should be no longer acceptable for everyone. Something is bad, or it´s not. Do, or do not. There is no try.

Anovos TK armor preorder

I have confidence in Anovos to deliver a good and accurate product. And as i havn´t yet decided if i will make it fit to my body or just as a "big white display stand" for my real Sterling E11 .......... my risk if it´s not approvable is not that big. On the other hand ..... if they don´t totally frakk it up (something i don´t believe in), i assume my building skills may be enough to get it fixed to something approvable. I see more of a problem in being 178cm with around 98 Kg (thank god not really "big", more shoulders with a somewhat bigger belly, like a bipedal bulldog, or a small tank ) - it may happen that i don´t like the look at the end if it´s not believable enough for me. -
Scopes & Hengstlers a detailed comparison.

In fact they were not only used in the 40s, they were used over decades, as long as any counting in production systems of each kind was based on tactile logging, until that was replaced by the more evolved counting via light barrier/lasers. German Eagle + DBP writing is probably made for the letter and parcel counters used by Deutsche Bundes Post, even used in the 80s. But they were used in close to all machines/production lines, to see after a shift/day how many units were produced. Most were thrown in the garbage when a machine was modernized, and indeed old used ones were deadcheap here in Germany - until some smart guys noticed they can make a nice profit when buying them on Ebay Germany for now around 50-60 (often going for that, sure you still need luck and not to much crazy SW-fans on the same auction), and selling them international for much higher rates. -
The creation of the E-11 blaster rifle

Had a look on it, and it requested me to log in or create a account to watch a template. Wasn´t the old BBC free for everyone to look and use the given templates? That´s what i believe to remember, just not completly sure. -
The Best Sterling Templates EVER!
Lichtbringer replied to ZeroRoom's topic in Templates and Blueprints
Havn´t got the big caliper from the shop, so did it with a ruler that was ready available - the overall length from muzzle to end of the cap (without ringholder) is 48cm, and muzzle to hinge is 35,3cm. -
The Best Sterling Templates EVER!

Sorry for the late reply, havn´t been in this thread for a long time. It all comes down to the machines you have access to. I assume most people in the hobby only have hand tools, or some machines from Harbour Freight (or something that way). So most (if not all) don´t have a flood cooling to use the proper indexable tips. Without that you are left with HSS tools, and to make heavy cuts without cooling and getting blue c-chips ..... you need a more rigid machine than the usual "Grizzly" and what else it is named. In my basement i only have such small machines, too. They are rather small (Mill 130 Kg, Lathe just over 200Kg), but used much more than the others cause i can stay in the warm house in all weathers. ------- I wouldn´t want to abuse them with heavy stainless work. A small piece here and there, yes - but nothing big. In the garage i have bigger old industrial machines (i like that, just as others buy and work on old cars), they are not so often used as the above cause the garage is not heatet - but they are much more rigid (yet still under 1 ton class). Nonetheless i don´t wan´t the mess from a massive flood cooling in my garage, i prefer that used with machines in a cabin where the mess stays inside. I decided for myself that if i need stainless work done, i have it done in a machine shop. But for sure, the last thing i want to do is working on a stainless piece of unknown alloy with handtools and a harbour freight drillpress. Even if it would be given to me for free, there are easier ways to get a job done. -
LOL. What thinks a Rottweiler when a Stormtrooper comes in range of his chain? "Damn, just another day with food in tupperware." But i looked at the site a few seconds ago if there is a pic of the dog, and all i found was this: Why doopydoo's? Well its our daughters pet name which she gave herself and we could'nt think of anything better she also helped design the logo which makes us a unique fun brand So, it seems their daughters name - i hope you can return your ticket, cause we all know that little princesses kill troopers when found. You need more troopers (and set for stun) to improve your chances

What a chaos. I wonder if filing a report with the postal company will have any result - i don´t even understand how they are able to loose a parcel today, in a civilized country, with educated citizens/empoyees, highly organized transport procedures, and scanners at any station on the way. One should think it´s noticed by the system when a handled/expected item doesn´t arrive on it´s next station
-
I´m still not sure what happened with your order. For me it sounds as if you have ordered from Doopy and paid with paypal. Then your item was send, you tracked it until it arrived in the US - and then it got lost somewhere. And cause it was lost by USPS, hasn´t resurfaced yet, and the USPS-Representative told you to file a claim against Doopy ..... you did that? Is that correct, or did i misunderstood something?

i´m not sure how i missed this thread, but it´s damn impressive.

DVH E-11 blaster kit project
Lichtbringer replied to Darth Voorhees's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Thanks for the info, Lou. I was talking about the stuff from this site, thought you bought it there: https://www.apexgunparts.com/index.php/cPath/83 To bad our custom would seize it. I already see me cutting a deac Sterling for the RFT-Blaster - but such a set would be much better for that purpose. -
DVH E-11 blaster kit project
Lichtbringer replied to Darth Voorhees's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Not in the US - i´ve read that the receiver "pipe" is there a integral part of what determinates a gun. By creating a new accurate metal receiver they can sue you for making a full-auto gun. Lou, is that one of the apex-kits? I wish i could import one of these cheap cutted sets to build a Rebel Trooper DH-17 - but as the cutting is the US way for the deactivation, and the functional parts are not altered with certificate as we need it here (welded trigger mechanism, milled bolt, drilled and welded barrel, ...... - but with intact receiver tube), i´m not able to get it through the customs. Unfortunately due to that my resistance will fade sooner or later .... and then i need to cut a Sterling to make the DH-17. -
Indeed, that is not my concern. It´s more a generally concern - as more the buyers are used and willing to pay in advance (without any item ready to ship), the more sellers will use that way of handling. And that opens then a big can of worms, will open the door to more and more problems cause it eases the road for the bad sellers, cause you will only know when it´s to late. Something that will effect everyone who wants to buy a item. It´s no issue for me with Andy, as he hasn´t requested any prepayment - it´s more a issue that people are willing to go a road that leads in a wrong direction, and that will bring no good to the trading in the hobby. "I" don´t want to notice in a few years thay i have to pay people long time in advance whom i don´t trust, just "cause everyone does, that´s the way it is now". ("Don´t trust" doesn´t mean i think they are bad people, but we all know life can and will happen to some of them - and i prefer that they have none of my money, then.) As you mentioned .... the story with EFX, known for years members gone bad .... if the people wouldn´t pay upfront that easy, there would be less problems.

Yes, they do. It´s just that simple. No need for me to be on the list, but indeed such things bother me. Each time someone pays upfront and later life happens to the maker of parts - they are wasting time and messing up threads with their whining "knows someone what happended to xxx, i paid ...." or "I paid YYY and he didn´t communicate since ...." ....... The "in hand and ready to ship"-rule is one of the smartest ones in the hobby - i just wish it would be followed from "if you paid upfront and got screwed, shut up and don´t waste our time". Off course it´s another thing if the seller said "Item is ready, pay now", then takes your money and jumps off the viewscreen - but mostly it´s just a "got money, life happened, is ashamed and disappeared/stopped communication"-thing. And that can be avoided by obeying that simple rule.
