  1. Ah, yeah! Great going! Only nitpick I have is I would make the elastic connecting the shoulderbells a little shorter, so that they barely touch the shoulderstraps. But great going, and super build! :-D
  2. Holy smokes, you've worked fast! Impressive, most impressive. I like it! On the fast track to success
  3. Why would you do that? Just holster it backwards, with the grip facing forward.
  4. 15mm on arms, 20mm on legs, except the back of the calfs where they're 25mm. Very nice suit! Might be the ultimate suit
  5. It's a replica, so it wasn't used in the movies, but it's as close as you get. Everything is just as it should be.
  6. That's great! And I really liked the second batch of pictures, lot's of great photos there!
  7. Yes, sitting down is a problem either way. But when you troop at the movies, you change out of your armor and into civvies before watching the movie.
  8. Good for you! A tip is to read, then read some more, and then read even a little more. Use the search function at the top of the page. If there's anything you're wondering about, chances are somebody else also wondered about the same thing and that it's covered in a previous topic
  9. Are you planning on buying armor or waiting for armor? I like the enthusiasm but your energy would be better spent just reading around and soaking up the information at hand, instead of making random topics for every little thing.
  10. I'd suggest looking at a lot of reference photos both screen captures from the movies and pictures from the lucasfilm archives, you'll find links to both here at the forums. And you might also want to check out Centurion applicant threads and maybe the build threads leading up to them to get a good idea of what an armor of Centurion grade looks like. But most of all, look at reference photos, if you would like the armor to look like it came off the set. A good set of armor is this one:----------- Regarding the LEDs, I can't remember seeing anyone doing it, and can't imagine it looking good...
  11. Attaboy, it doesn't get any better than natural weathering, although that takes a lot of time and provides that you attend a lot of troops, or use your armor alot. That being said, I really like the look of the screen used suits, specifically during the raid on Tantive IV (scenes that were filmed near the end of the movie I believe, where the suits had been banged up after a lot of use during the filming).
  12. I can also recommend this page: http://sterlingblasterconversion.blogspot.com/ A nice, accurate and thorough build with lots of pics and info!
  13. I have used the rubber soles on my boots to weather my TK, and it has become naturally weathered by bumping into stuff and rubbing against the blaster during transport, but I have never heard of "carbon scoring" before, so please enlighten us
  14. Thanks! I really appreciate that That's why I made the thread so detailed to begin with, so that others might benefit from it down the road. You only have to do what you feel is necessary yourself, the only requirement down the road (i believe for EIB and Centurion if you're plannning to go that route) is that you have a cocking handle, and that's allready included in the kit, so as long as that's on there you shouldn't have any problems, you could always go back and mod it later with a rear bolt if you like.
  15. Yippee! Nice to get a fellow Centurion in Norway :-P Congratulations on a well built kit and kudos for having an excellent eye for details. I also really like the fake strapping brackets, awesome idea. They might even be built into the Centurion standards one day, who knows..?
  16. I went through this whole thing in my blaster buildthread. Because the doopydoo pipe is so thick, a piece of pipe inside will be much deeper in there than the actual molded bolt so it won't look like they belong together..
