  1. Same ones I use for all my blaster builds.. Always available and actually cheaper on eBay Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  2. Good luck with your build. Love my TKC. You certainly stand out in a crowd of shiny TKs
  3. Ooh.. definitely keeping an eye on this thread..
  4. Oh Boy! would I love one of those inner bolts!!! Are these for sale? Take my money now!!!!!!
  5. Following this with interest and implementing it on my latest blaster build. Must be the best build I have seen to date.. Awesome work! Just wish I could get hold of a working folding stock here in the UK!
  6. AP Lid with loadingarea armour... (Other TE-derived (CAP, TMC, MTK, TE2, etc.))
  7. From one Commander to another, amazing work. Need to re-look at mine and bring it up to scratch:D Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
  8. Stunning.... makes me want to build another one myself... that would make three. .. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
  9. I agree with Vern, Trooperbay all the way.. amazing stencils and excellent service...
  10. Greg, I used Plastikote Gloss Super Paint - Royal Blue Spray Paints as it chips really easily and and scuffs up really well.. It's also an excellent match for the TKC. If I was going to build one again though I would definately copy Dans thread!!!
  11. Ooh... Shiny! Any chance of obtaining the details of the supplier inc. cost etc?
  12. TK-6447 requesting 501st Access http://www.501st.com/members/displaymemberdetails.php?userID=13965
  13. Well its been a long hard slog but at last I heard the news today I was waiting for. I have been cleared for 501st and UKG membership A big thanks to all who advised me and helped out where necessary especially Terry Cooper, Gareth Blaken, SeanTrooper and DashRazor Looking forward to trooping with you all soon
  14. I am not saying I support recasting either. But anything is better than the Rubies monstrosity! All I pointed out was another supplier of armour who does actually state on his sales page that NO ARMOUR is 501st approved. Also his armour is cheap. Not promoting him or endorsing, just adding him into the bucket. My personal preference would be AP but I could not afford it so I went for a cheaper option. As I was building a TK Commander I thought cheaper the better as I was going to be adding scratches etc. My next set will either be AP or TM definately.
  15. loadingarea (Jon) is actually on ebay (I know, watch what you buy on Ebay) but I know a couple of members that have brought his kits, including myself, and they are really good "starter" kits. Check out my build thread here ----------
  16. Loadingarea does a nice suit for under £400. Ideal as a first suit and very shiny... just my $0.02! but if you want to buy the Rubies set then I will quite happily take the money for your and send you a paper mache kit instead, would look better!
  17. Brilliant... i've submitted my pics but will tweek the arms!
  18. Thanks for the advice Steve, I was thinking about the arm strapping when I posted. I have some wide elastic so I will Tweek my arms tomorrow
  19. When I weathered the white areas on my TK Commander, I purchased a graphite pencil from the local arts shop and scraped it into a pot to get a fine dust. Then I used a blusher brush to brush this dust over the areas I wanted weathered, building up darker areas where needed with my finger and the brush again. The good thing about it is if you don't like the result, a babies wet wipe takes it off and you can do it again.
  20. Clearance pics: Front Left Back Right Torso Advise and comments welcome as always... if you all think these are ok, I will submit them officially
  21. Going to apply for clearance later today. As far as I can tell the suit is finished at last (found the dimensions for the holster) and the whole armour has now been dirtied up I will post my clearance pics on here also for you all to see and advise accordingly if anything rears up that you notice that might be an issue! The only main thing I have to purchase is a vox kit! might have to be a silent trooper until I can sort it out
  22. OK, i've done some more work on the legs, arms chest plate etc and now happy with the scratched "Tiger Stipe" effect. I inherited the suit's weathering when I purchased the part built kit and wanted to carry on the effect throughout the build. Will post pics soon. One question, does anyone have specific dimensions for the placement of the rivets that hold the holster in place? I am unsure how far from the edge of the ammo belt the first rivet should be (if that makes sense).
  23. AM is really a nice suit though. Really crisp definition as far as I can tell. Might get that next time
