  1. @Spectre I think you are right about the drop boxes, I think also they are supposed to be a bit higher up and further round the sides. Maybe i'm wrong but all the stuff i've seen they have all been that way.
  2. Has anyone else noticed that this guys Sniper plate is on the wrong leg, how does he walk? The plate would catch the ammo pouches. Sorry, just noticed whilst reading this thread
  3. I'm building a TKC myself and decided against the Light Saber after reading various comments on another thread, including one on my own thread. I can understand the force sensitive TKs having one at non Cannon events as most member of "Jo Public" probably do not know that these type of TKs existed. They just see a TK and go "Ooh Star Wars". If you took everything you saw in the games/books/drawings as clearable then the whole point of doing this would be out of the window. Might as well all wear the Rubbies kit and be done with it! It is a nice looking saber mind, and if anyone did build one I would love to see the thread and maybe have a go myself but only for display! Keep it simple, TKs with Blasters, Jedi/Sith with Sabers. Just my $0.02
  4. Great work Dan, awesome suit. I hope I can do mine justice like this as well !!!! Gets my Vote for CRL Photo !!!!!
  5. My Armour has a seperate but plate and is ANH style not ROTJ so it would never pass Centurian, and the way i'm still feeling about this armour it might not make 501st!! But i'll soldier on and see what happens! Take a break and then come back to it is probably best, that way I won't completely loose it and completely shaft it!
  6. Thanks Sean, I know the post your on about, I'm following it so if anything gets added I can see what it is. I've re-marked up the chest plate and arms, i'm going to clear the legs and mask them up and re-spray it all blue. I then post up pics of the spray job and we can go from there. Thanks for the offer of help, started to think I was out here on my own! Just my paranoia kicking in! Any tips with regards to the belt? I've some people mention that there is four rivets each side of where the TD sits as if the holster could be attached either side. I'm putting mine on the left (as per CRL) but still not sure if it should be two of four rivets holding it on, keep getting conflicting posts or maybe i'm reading the CRL wrong
  7. All the armour is built. Holster came yesturday so looking to attach that, but unsure of the correct way. Its a ANH Holster and from what i've seen, there's two ways to attach. Two rivets or 4. Also I just can't get a good battle effect on the Blue areas. I'm now artist or professional modeller. Just really want the Blue areas to look right, but everytime I do it it just looks, well, crap!Could really do with some good reference shots but can't find anything on the web with regards to weathering or battle damage effects. In a slump and a rutt guys, getting really pee'd off as its the Blue thats holding up getting me cleared!!!!! Been waiting over 3 weeks for my 501st number so that I can apply for clearance when the kits finally finished. Emailed a GML for any info but no response. Asked Armourers on UKG Forum for build assistance, again no response. It appears that unless you are building a suit from the original films and not the EU, no one gives a damb and wants to help! (Rant over).
  8. Loosing heart in this project. Armourers on UKG do not respond, Can't get the Blue right at all... Argh!!! Project on hold until further notice
  9. If this ever gets released as a kit I would be really keen to purchase!!! Awesome work... going to keep a close eye on this!
  10. I used mostly Unibond Repair Power Epoxy which really stuck the parts that will get handled the most. I then E6000 for all the rest, mostly for the ability to have a little movement for adjustment before it finally cured. So far the blaster has held up to my 2 year old grabbing it every now and then
  11. How did you get that amazing paint effect of the minimal scratching? I'm currently in the process of re-doing my Blue areas as I felt the scratching was too much. i really like yours, please post a how to...
  12. The Angelus Acrylic Paint is really good. I've used it on my boots and the results where brilliant. Your boots look really good and the finisher will make them even better. What i've found is good is that this paint seems to cover like a plastic film which does not crack when you walk, although it will mark easily, but then that makes it even more authentic
  13. Looking at the graphic of all the ranks, does this mean a TK Commander would be a LTC?
  14. I have just got a pair for a fellow Trooper who needs a new pair of boots. I'm wondering if there would be any take up from other members if I brought the boots and painted them up for people to order for say £55 all in (inc Delivery) Cheaper than TKBoots and should be faster? Just a thought.
  15. Awsome work. Makes me want to melt mine down and start again with new armour!
  16. I can recommend Paul (Troopermasters) Thermal Detinators if you want to save some time... well worth it, clips and all.. awsome bit of kit!
  17. Not happy with any of the paint work... decided to strip and start again
  18. Thanks, I was unsure about the legs... I will get that sorted by the end of the month and update accordingly
  19. If anyone can advise me if my current state needs tweeking to get clearance please let me know.. Applying for clearance soon
  20. Just waiting for holster to arrive and to attach. Please look below and advise of anything that you feel would stop me getting clearance. I've applied for my 501st ID number and once I get that I can apply to UKG for clearance.
  21. Thanks Sean, that saves me some time and money in the future...
  22. For a future project, is it worth looking for parts to build a lightsaber to go with this costume or is it really not that important? Thoughts would be appreciated.
  23. Just applied for my TK number ready for Clearance pics to go in.. The long wait now... I will put some pics up soon ready for any further comments before I try for clearance
  24. Boots now sprayed up and all armour weathered. Will post pics soon
  25. Started the smoke and battle effects on the white areas. I just got dirty
