Yo! I'm sorry I'm typing with my thumbs and my for my brevity. You should be good to go by trimming each side to half the width of your cover strips. That's all Rob does if you order the kit trimmed for butt joints. Check out DarkCMF or Narc's build threads (off the top of my head) for RT cover strip builds.
