  1. Even though the guy may be a jackass for claiming he designed the original Stormtrooper, it is pretty cool seeing the guy who formed them for the original movie, putting one together.
  2. That's pretty interesting about making sure the could discern between the ones that could fire and those that couldn't. There have certainly been accidents on movie sets concerning guns actually shooting.
  3. Oh ok, was just curious, because of all the requirements, that one always stuck out to me as it was clear that some E-11's in ANH didn't have the counters. Thanks for clarifying.
  4. Just out of curiosity, why does EIB require the Hengstler and cylinders for ANH requirements? It's clear that they are not on all the E-11's in the movie.
  5. Also love the idea of a forum app for Android/Apple.
  6. This must have been the easiest approval ever. Great job and congratulations Dan!....thanks for making me feel inadequate

Won't comment directly on this particular Ebay seller but the consensus on here seems to be to avoid Ebay buys. If you haven't already, you should probably read this... http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=11538 Trust me, I made the mistake of buying armour on Ebay before finding FISD and reading any of this. The armour available from known sellers on here is as inexpensive or less expensive and of better quality than most of what you will find on Ebay.
  9. Nice, this explains it perfectly.
  10. Ahhhh, yes it does make sense now. So seamless just means no undersuit showing in between. Great, I think know how I will proceed to fill those gaps. Thanks Panda, as always, you are a wealth of knowledge.
  11. Hello Fellow Troopers, I am pretty close to finishing up my armour build (been working on it since October)and have a question... In the EIB requirements concerning side gaps it says the following: "Armor side gaps should be closed. This should be done by adding a shim or shims of material that must be of similar material and color as the ab and back plate. Shims should fit flush and may have seams. Ideally they will be seamless if possible to the ab and/or back plate, resulting in a single seam between the ab/back rather than extra seams for where the shims are joined." First, what does it mean that the shims should fit flush? Second, how can they possibly be seamless? What does that mean? Finally, if you are adding a shim between two pieces (ab and kidney plate) how can you have a "single" seam? Does anyone have some decent photos of what this looks like inside and out? Thanks.
  12. Four months late but...that's one mean looking trooper.
  13. BTW, just as duty to protocol you should go to the Introductions forum and, well, introduce yourself. I see this is your first post so I am assuming you haven't done that yet.
  14. Hello Fellow Trooper, I also purchased FX armour but immediately disposed of the lid and got a far better one....but a couple of things to think about...first, it really takes a bit of craftsmanship to fit the ears on any of these helmets it would seem, so don't feel alone on that one. Second, a bit of gap is normal. Take a look at the screen helmets and you'll see what I mean. You could fill the gap but with an ABS lid you would need to paint it to cover the fill material.
  15. Googled the Battlespec helmet...don't know if this is an older version or not but the ears are different and the nose ridge is more pronounced...otherwise it does seem like a pretty good match. I'll keep looking. update: Found another view of the Shepperton helmet and this does look like a match. You're good. Thanks again.
  16. Thanks for the help Dan...I'll do some research on it now that I have a clue.
  17. Whoa, didn't expect that answer. It's pretty tough and has a colour similar to the HPDE where it's scratched, I guess it could be fiberglass. Is it a good lid (other than the recast part)? It looks pretty decent to me in terms of shape.
  18. I think this is an AP, but not sure. You guys seem to be able to identify these helmets in about a second...what do you think?
  19. Yeah, the whole navigation row is wrapping. Not sure if maybe something changed in the CSS.
  20. Looks about perfect...nice build!
  21. Nice job! Looks great.
  22. You don't have to wait...check out Panda's awesome build here... PVC Blaster Build
