I got this kit a few weeks ago. Picked up the PVC pipe and sanded up the parts. I'll post once I get it together (may take awhile).

This is great advice guys as I will be starting on my PVC E-11 soon. Have prepped the resin bits and will be doing this drilling soon....of course, I'm in the US and don't have 40mm tube, I have the 1.5" which is slightly larger and thicker walled.

Maybe "weathering" wasn't the best choice of words then...."wear and tear" works for me as well.

Nice...sounds like that would give a perfect blaster "soot" effect.

Yeah, I think the "lived in" look adds a definite feel of realism. I know it seems to be gospel to be screen accurate, even the accuracies that make it look like a prop but I feel that going for the perception is a better approach. I mean, the goal of the movie wasn't to make you say, "oh look, I see the strings, cool", it was to make you believe what you were seeing. That subtle weathering looks great, btw.

Just curious as to why no one seems to show weathering or battle damage/dirt on their TK armour?

Man, I wish I had joined before I purchased my first set of armour a few weeks ago. Typical rookie I went to Ebay as it is hard to find info on where to buy the good stuff at a good price anywhere else. Honestly, I still don't really know where to look online to get reputable armour. Anyway, went the Ebay route and bought some "FX" armour for an affordable price. It doesn't look too bad from comparisons I've tried to make through photos but I can imagine to you FISD folks it's an obvious recast. It's nice and heavy ABS and seems durable. The helmet is completely wonky but not much I can do about that now. Anyway, how pissed off should I be? I mean, will I be a total laughingstock with this "no-name" armour? Can someone point me to a site where I can buy a decent set without worrying about someone taking my money and running and without breaking the bank? You guys seem to really know your stuff and am hoping for some guidance. Maybe I can make due with the armour but get a great bucket to make up for it? Help me FISD, you're my only hope.
