    Excellent tutorial. I would like to highlight Josephs comment about not skimping on snaps. USE GOOD SNAPS! I bought some run of the mill snaps at a fabrics store and have had to replace nearly all of them over time with good sturdy snaps (Tandy in my case). Cheap snaps are not well shaped and made of weak/thin materials that WILL give out on you. Having snaps crumble and fail during a troop is not something I would wish on anyone. I cannot stress this enough.

    You will likely need to take your belt off and lay it flat on the floor or table, taking photos of both sides. Maybe not, but I'd consider adding this to your photos. Best of luck trooper!

    I have used E6000 on nearly every part of nearly all my builds. It has never stained any parts of my armor and has never broken down over two years of use.

    Let me also add, these types of lessons are hard learned, but we all make them. Do not get discouraged by this. You will come out of this an experience an armor builder and better for it.

    Agreed. That is not much support given the stress the joint takes. I would consider a piece that gives at least 2" of support to each side of the joint, preferably 3 to 4 inches. Nice work on filling the gap with slurry. Sorry its tearing.
