  1. Much better! You look great! The helmet is SPOT ON. If you try these you'll gain some additional perceived height: -put a foam ring around the neck and under the shoulder straps -put a piece of foam inside the top of the shoulder bells to make them sit higher too -put extra padding inside the top of the helmet to make it sit higher too
  2. Hi Alexandra, for your physical structure I suggest AP, it's accurate and will fit your frame better than other armors if you build it well
  3. WOW. A thounsand times WOW. You put me into shame! PERFECT. FLAWLESS. INCREDIBLE. You should be the model for CRL, for all three!!! I mean... damn! Look at this one!!
  4. Definitely, maybe both. That's why is best to use E6000 + snaps-on-tabs
  5. Agreed. Or, since the white balance is digital-related, take the pictures with an analog camera, print them professionally without any processing, have them scanned professionally, and then the results will always be skewed by everyone's different monitor settings. All this apart, TM is a bit milkyer than AP, no doubt.
  6. You have to set the white balance manually for a proper calibration. Put a pure white matte cardboard in front of the subject you want to photograph, zoom in and focus, do the calibration, shoot.
  7. I was thinking the same thing. Plus I wouldn't say that TM is tricky to assemble, since the pieces line up perfectly, the only thing that might be "tricky" is the absence of trimming lines. AP is much more tricky since the pieces don't line up properly and some heavy tweaking is required for a perfect build.
  8. Biceps and forearms: 15mm finishing strips Thighs and front of shins: 20mm finishing strips Back of shins: 25mm finishing strips
  9. Nice! Nut I'm sorry to inform you that the tube stripes are on the wrong side, you should swap them L/R.
  10. Nice build! You're doing a neat job! BTW I'm 1.74, so almost 5'9" Things I did to improve the overall looks and make it fit my frame better: - trimmed an extra cm from the ab plate and kidney plate - heated and bent down the shoulder horns on both the back plate and chest plate, to force them to sit higher - I put a foam ring around the neck that sits over the shoulders and raises the whole armor by almost an inch - I put a piece of foam inside the top of the shoulder bells to make them sit higher too - I put extra padding inside the top of the helmet to make it sit higher too The last three "cheats" really help! I'd follow TM's advice to trim away the return edge from the front of the forearms, it's screen accurate and really helps mobility and comfort, I'm considering doing that too.
  11. Glue them with E6000, it'll provide enough flexibility and it's screen accurate
  12. Acetone, strong one in big bottle, not the one for nails. Cut the spare abs in very small pieces, put them in a glass jar and puor acetone until you sunk the pieces, let melt for a week, apply in layers and let them cure for some days each.

  14. Another great trick to increase perceived height is to put foam under the shoulder straps (think a foam ring around your neck) to raise the armor, then extra padding in your helmet to raise that too, I gained an inch with this method (thanks to my buddy Alberto for this!)
  15. O.M.G. Imagine an Emperor at conventions pulling that stunt... AWESOME. And geeky. I love it.

  19. I'd trim the brow a bit higher and raise the faceplate, you want the top of the eyes to be aligned with the crease on cap/back. Raising the faceplate can lead to a smaller-looking helmet, keep that in mind and relate that to your physical structure, I think that half a centimeter in the helmet assembly can change the overall look a bit. After looking at so many helmets I think that following these ideal lines leads to a nice and balanced assembly. (This is my TM helmet after 3 reassembly) You're doing a great and neat job!!!
