  1. Yes. I too have FX armor and just cut the velcro into slim strips to fit in the groove and the overlapping section. I will try to get a pic of this later.
  2. Industrial velcro. This is a widely accepted and proven way to close up the shins at the back. You can buy it at Home Depot, Staples, Office Depot and places like Joann's Fabrics. The other idea is to leave them open at the back, I believe member "firebladejedi" uses the open back method.
  3. Terry you're doing a great job! Can't wait to see this completed. What kind of hobby iron are you using? Where did you get it?
  4. Nice video!
  5. Yes...leather palm/nomex (on top of hand) flight gloves like this. I use these. Find some here for $25: ------ also google a 10% off coupon for opsgear.com, there is usually always one coupon out there that is active to save you a little bit. --------
  6. Hey Martin, if you can't or don't want to use the Internet (eBay) to purchase glue that we can vouch for I would suggest asking fellow TKs in the PI. They will probably know of where and what are alternatives for you locally. Good luck pare. ----- or www.pinoy501st.com
  7. Looks good to me too. I used the Pre-marked holes but sometimes wish I didn't just so I could get the brow to move up a little bit. My only suggestion would be to get some hovi mic tips instead of the ones supplied in the kit. Oh yeah maybe a different neck trim too. Troopermaster sells a really good one. In addition to that TK4510 suggested weberspump.com for a 'S' shaped trim. Look for product "RG102".
  8. Ha! The Subaru Brat, a weird car errr truck...vehicle.
  9. I have only used E6000 and ABS cement. I will always prefer e6000 cause I have melted/warped ABS using ABS cement. After making that mistake I have learned how to correctly use it. It just makes me nervous to get it on surfaces of armor that I didn't intend for it to be on.
  10. Here is the best thread I have seen on getting lenses into a helmet: ----- I have not used this method, but I hope to in the future. I currently have gaffers tape holding my lenses in my lid. And before that I was using blue painter's tape to hold them in.
  11. Should be able to withstand 3800 pounds!? Thats nearly two tons. I havent seen the cargo area of a commercial plane but I just cant imagine that much stuff on top of a bin. I haven't took a flight with any of my gear, but I would feel confident with them transporting it. Your only other option is sending it through the mail. ----------
  12. I use this 45 gallon tote bin that I found at Target. I liked the price ($20) but I wish the wheels were more sturdy. They are made of plastic. --------- I have seen others use these from the Container Store: This one is very compact and I have been told that this makes it in under the limit for oversize luggage on some airlines. I have seen all armor fit in this box, minus the helmet. ($39.99) http://images.containerstore.com/images/catalog/6359/6359.jpg and Another one (42-gallon bin) from the Container Store that fits everything. ($49) http://images.containerstore.com/images/catalog/92477/StorItallTrunk_xl.jpg This 50-gallon Stanley portable tool box found at Home Depot: This fits everything easy, the structure is very strong and has a lock and key. You can even add pad lock type locks to the latches. (~$60) ----------- go to their websites for more information.
  13. Congrats on your delivery! I want TM armor!
  14. Great news! I'm happy for you Matt.
  15. I have a friend that got this AM armor too! I like the little details that are added to this kit compared my FX armor. Good luck with your build.
  16. Just to chime in on this...On my AP build I experienced senario #1. When I was putting it together, I came to the lower screw on one of my ears and it didn't line up. I had to drill another hole.
  17. Wow...like others have already said...an outstanding replica!
  18. Good luck! I'll be watching this thread. I have a friend that is putting this kit together right now. I think it looks great and I agree Tupperware TK is a great guy, very helpful.
  19. Hey Matt I have mine held in with the same method that No'l mentioned, but I'm using gaffers tape to hold flat lenses into my AP helmet. I also plan to go the FIMO mounting route once I find the stuff. Note: I bought my gaffers tape at Guitar Center.
  20. Getting the big box is always exciting. Good luck with build, I'll be back to check out your progress.
  21. They look like they could work, but i think they would be better if that stitching wasnt above the midsole and on the midsole. have you considered just getting tkboots? tkboots.com ----------
  22. Thanks Robert! And Eric I'll PM you about your PVC solution.
