  1. That's the dog's danglies, mate!
  2. The brand is "Jones" if I'm not mistaken, Mathias. I think the overall shape is very close. In the end I filed them under "C" for "Close but no cigar". The elastic is a different size and shape and the model number information inside doesn't match. If you're not desperately trying to get the original brand and you want something close, then to my eye these look great.
  3. Great work, Mathias. Nice to see it all together. Another easy pass.
  4. I'm sorry but I cannot divulge that information as I am currently hoarding it for myself.
  5. Oh no? Just translating the whole list of requirements and posting them over on the SG boards. You're too humble! Not a common trait for an Argentine! 3
  6. "08. Gloves: Black rubber, nomex, leather, or leather-like material, with no visible straps or logos. The fingers ar enclosed, non-textured." I think it should at least be mentioned here in the general list of materials. If there is solid evidence to suggest that that predominantly silk gloves were used for ESB then maybe a note in "23. Armor Details" would also be appropriate. To be honest though, I cannot cite any concrete sources which state that this is the case. My information is at best second-hand, i.e. stuff I've picked up from these forums. I have to say I'm not really qualified to start dictating whether silk is more accurate than any other material. Maybe somone with more direct references can chime in here. Mark (firebladejedi) is as much an authority on the ESB TK as anyone else I can think of, for example.
  7. Good news, great work! One thing I notice on the ESB Stunt CRL is that there is no mention of silk gloves. I think they should at least have the same status as rubber, if not maybe be considred more typical for ESB TKs. Just a small suggestion.
  8. Hi Rolf,

Didn't want to hijack Steve's thread so just a quick post to wish you all the strength you need to get through these hard times.

The Force will be with you ... always.

  9. Well done, Carlos. And well done to Damián too, who has to take a lot of credit for promoting the EIB programme within the SG.
  10. Thank you, Rolf. That's a major compliment coming from you.
  11. Man, there's a guy that does the same knees-at-90° thing here in our town. It's mesmerising. So come on, what's the secret? Metal bars stuffed down your pants? You can tell us here. We won't say a word!
  12. It's definitely visible that the thinner material - with the strapping joined in the right places of course - "behaves" a lot more like the original armour on the outside. As I said, I love the way the chest warps out with certain upper body movements - just like in the film. Amazing development work all round, chaps. Hats off to you!
  13. Yeah, what's the deal with those heels, mate? You a bit of short-erse like me?
  14. Love the authentic way the chest bends outwards with the proper thickness of plastic and the correct fastening system. I'd forgetten how spoiled I am when it comes to taking photos. I can pretty much pop outside into the garden to take them in natural light any day of the year. Some poor sods have to go in the kitchen!
  15. Hey! I'm a "real stormtrooper"! :D
  16. Davin, Have a look at recent topics posted by firebladejedi, SW1 and stukatrooper. They all show some great pictures of the insides of the armour in general and, in particular, some close-up shots of what these parts look like.
  17. I had the pleasure of meeting Carlos and seeing this superb build in person just a week or so ago. Excellent work, superb fit!
  18. ¡Bieeeen! A por ellos ...
  19. Armour update 3rd Oct. 2010: Just submitting photos on behalf of Conny. She has a replacement helmet for this armour. It's the TM helmet which originally belonged to my ANH suit (seen here http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=12583&st=0&gopid=157077entry157077). I have given it to her to replace the original AP helmet. No real change, just a slight adjustment of the screws to make for a higher brow. I personally think it looks great next to the AP armour. The slight extra glossiness and the slight different shade give it that almost authentic look of the original the painted HIPS helmets next to the non-painted ABS suits. I've actually been working on her armour a bit this weekend and we've managed to make some improvements to fit and finish of the chest/back/torso section. We'll get her fully suited up for more photos soon. Anyway, here are the photos of the helmet for approval ...
  20. Armour update (3rd Oct 2010): This set of armour is currently without a helmet. I will be submitting photos of a new helmet for approval over the next few weeks or so. I have repainted this helmet and changed the decals to convert it to ANH as seen in this thread: http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=12583&st=0&gopid=157077entry157077. The reason behind this is that I will be first replacing my ESB helment and eventually the armour with something new. I am keeping my acrylic-capped TM armour as ANH version only. Of the two helmets I built with this material, the one originally used for ESB was my favourite. I have donated the original TM ANH helmet to my wife. She will be using it in replacement of her AP helmet. Confused? Well anyway, there will be photos of the new helmet for my ESB EIB award appearing here very soon. Eventually I will have a full set of replacement armour too.
  21. Armour update (3rd Oct 2010): I have swapped the helmet on this armour. For formality's sake, I'm submitting photos of the new helmet for approval. This is my TM acrylic-capped helmet which I originally used for my ESB outfit (seen here http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=12582&st=0&p=153804entry153804). I have repainted it and changed the decals. Everything else remains unchanged. The reason behind this? Well, I will be eventually replacing my ESB armour and helmet with something new. I am keeping my acrylic-capped TM armour as ANH version only. Of the two helmets I built with this material, this was my favourite. I have donated the original TM ANH helmet (seen earlier in this thread) to my wife. She will be using it in replacement of her AP helmet. Confused? Well anyway, here are the photos of the new helmet for this EIB award ...
