  1. What binnies do you get from cutting the butt? I havent done mine yet...
  2. I see... Hmm... Stronger than standard fiberglass, but not as flexable as ABS. Thats what I got from the article. Rigid, but high tensile (bending) strength. Wonder how that would Troop. Any one have any made into armor?
  3. I have heard of Styrene, ABS and Sintra. What is GRP?
  4. Hmmm... Why? Hard to sit and drive in armor... I use a big tupperware tote. Its blue! I am very anal on how I store and pack my armor. I do the same thing everytime. Expensive costumes do that to you after a while.
  5. Arrghh!!! I have never figured out why the clones painted themselves. Not that a stark white suit is all that covert, but a painted OT trooper! NNNNOOOOO!!!! I thought the point was not to be diffrent than the other troops. I can handle the all black, but the paint is not for OT. I shall resist... Gamelooks good though.
  6. Good vid. Dig the girdle for the thighs. Im off to make one.
  7. IMO the insides should be painted. The reflection from the stark white drove me nuts. If you are a film acc guy, then no, go like gorge made it. But for regular trooping? Paint it up man. Also hides you electronics and gives it a more "real" look. When you show a kid your lid it looks like a helmet a stormtrooper used. I used auto underliner. Looks great and soundeadens as well. Smells like poo for about two weeks though.
  8. I love my SA gloves, there the Biz. They have a form fit and a leather look on the sides. And not to expensive...
  9. Well I had to hurry on my paint... Had a troop that cam up last minute. Bums me out so I am going to redo this paint job. But the insides are done to my tastes...Auto undercoating for the insides. Looks the Biz. So I had to rush the white and the dent. Not cool. I also didnt like the plasticote paint I got. Not good for the ANH. Ill be going to a primer and a better white. It fisheyed pretty bad. The lid looked good enough, so I trooped it, but it bothers me. I didnt have black, so i had to paint the mouth...*gasp* grey. I am going ESB, so Resand and re sticker. Got the ESB from Trooperdecals. This is the Sandy sticker set anyway. I have the Keith mic tips installed right now, and am waiting to re do to put on Stompers with the Trik Toys amp. Padding is also temp. I would like to go high end on this one. Things to change. Bolt size. WAY to big. Need ground down, or you loose skin. Lens. I dont like the wraparound, Ill make my own. Not a bad setup, just not my fav.
  10. When I get back...(maybe...) My AR-15 is my crown jewel next to me Desert Eagle 50. Hang in you all, I believe in America. I believe it wil get better. We all have to believe! Thats why I serve. I hope for leaders with a sence of reality and a finger on the pulse of the red blooded worker. All nations need that! Troop on. Troop on.
  11. Although I now live in Japan, where guns are for cops, I still Support the NRA. Guns will be easy to get for all time in America. We are a very gun nation. Its not going to change. Pros and cons will always be there. I believe in owning guns. Guns dont kill people. People kill people. Look to the media, who love a killing, and then bash a group of costumers during the Rose parade... We have to change as a nation. We are Violant. Japanese TV dosent have all the killing. There is no CSI here. Not that I am for censorship (another touchy issue) I just dont agree with the current state of the union. Name two feel good shows in the last three years. Being removed from it made me look at it diffrent. Parents need to be Parents, and well, we need to make better desisions. Guns arent the problem. We are. Like I said before in the above post, Common sence. Guns have a place. So do gun owners. I am military. we need them. Right now some one is protecting us with a gun. I know a few in a desert cami doing that for some people back home that dont care anymore. Not that you all dont care, actually this group is very pro military... I love you all. We as troopers represent a war machine portrayed in a movie. We are trooping to help kids. Remember the slogan? Bad guys doing Good? I havent seen the news and had to read up on current events in the states. This is a big issue right now. bummer. Educate, and train. Thats the way out of the hole. If everbody could come together and agree... Ahh... thats the problem. *steps off of soap box*
  12. Being in Japan, I dont carry wepons that much. I dont know the laws, and dont push it to far. Although Japan sells VERY realistic Airsoft to the masses, there are laws against Forigners and airsoft purchace. So i play it safe and leave the guns at home. Only on planned troops and cleared events do I carry a blaster. Sometimes I think about the event as well... Christmas parties should be a blasterless event... Hospital visits shoud be a blasterless event. Parades, Blast away. I think common sence is a key factor in the whole gun issue. If it dont feel right, it aint!
  13. Great thread and great looking helmet! keep it up!
  14. at times he sells out, and waits to do a new run. Ill have to look up his eBay as well he sells on there from time to time...

    Final note

These posts need to go away. Period. I really am sick of this crap.
  16. wow. Thats on every copy of windows? Thats Way cool. The starwars universe is on every PC. HA!
  17. Whoa nelly... The helmet came to me with the understanding there would be sanding and some filling work. I knew that. I made this "dent". I sanded and enlarged it. Its to look battle worn. I like it. ANHV2's are kits yall, this is my personal direction. The helmet is an awsome lid, and well worth the price paid.
  18. Toss one back man! Enjoy your day!
  19. I started sanding and finished up the dent. I am choosing not to fill the void in the top of the lid, going to make it look a little more weathered. I am still up in the air about a transition to Sandie, but am leaning on staying clean, just battle worn. I figure there had to be Stormtroopers that lived and breathed in their armor, like I would. That would mean cleaning it up everyonce in a while and wearing the heck out of it.. Here are my starter pics...
  20. If you all dont mind, Ill add my build to this thread, Just got mine today and will be starting on it this week. As with all the others, Very Nice Helmet! I only see one Con, and thats you have to know alittle about body work. But the con is why I bought it. This is a perfect modelers helmet. You make or break it. I like that. I might even work the top of the helmet to look like a dent, that would be a cool effect. Way Way better than the FX five piece alignment nightmare... I am going Stunt, with flat lenses. Also going ESB, (I hope) with a Rinolined interior. Stompers Hovi's and Trik's chip. Looks to have plenty of room fo my setup, and will be a better interior to pad and paint. Ill get progress pics up as well...
  21. Spaceballs the toilet paper... 1..2..3..4..5.. i gotta change the combo on my luggage...
  22. Not to be the wet blanket... but there are great Fan mades out there. They take time and money to get ahold of, but these should be the blasters of the elite. Toys still have the toy look IMO even modded... I vote no...
  23. Modern Country, Rowdy and Loud. 80's rock and Metal Anything that moves me...
  24. That is the most class in an answer I have ever read. Thank you for sharing an awsome set of pics, and shreding the myth that original owners are to hard to aproach. After reading and reading and serching for the refs and knowledge for ROTJ, there is this thread. Wow. Long Live the FISD. A pic is worth volumes. In reality this hobby is a desision in where you want to be. Canon to the letter, or close. I have never seen the smile of a kid vanish with an FX kit, or one get bigger in a more canon kit. You have give alittle insight into the direction of ROTJ armor with just a few pics. THANK YOU. I for one FULLY understand an HIGHLY COMMEND you for not sharing everything. That is the right you have in the fact you own a piece of movie history. There are tons of cons and shams, and there here lurking and serching as well. Thats the shame of the hobby. No one sees the straps anyway. When (I say when, Sheesh, dont tell the wife) I am lucky enough to find that piece, that prop that every one wants, I would share the outsides as well. Some of the magic would be just for me though... It has to feel great to look at a Stormtrooper that WALKED in the Starwars universe. Would make me feel like a little kid again. My FX does that every time I wear it.
  25. As far as TT, on the pricy side for an iffy amp. I would save the scratch and get a hyperdyne. Untill otherwise noted, Hyperdyne has the best IMO. I have the Vortex 2 on order and an Ghostbusters amp in hand and can say great stuff. I HIGHLY recomend the JBL ontour speakers, also Great stuff. Kinda big, I am still looking into the TK uses of the thing, but in my Vader it rocks. I also have the In helmet rig from Skullworks, and think it is a great deal for what you get. I would say though if you are ok with wiring, you could so the same way cheaper. But for a shlub like me, the SW was a great buy. Still Hyperdyne is the king.
