  1. There's some over on the blaster builders club.
  2. Could anyone tell me how the lense material was installed in the ANH stunt helmets? I read something mentioning draft excluder I'm either thinking of the wrong stuff or just not realising how to use it.
  3. Not in the movie, no, the only guys who had pauldrons were the sandies; black, white and orange. The TKs you've seen with pauldrons are EU characters such as incinerator troopers with the red pauldron.
  4. It's meant to be there as it's on the screen used helmets. I'd leave it well alone.
  5. I think you can get away with the stock. When I was thinking about building a metal E-11 I did look into this to the point I phoned the police and customs. The police's response was basically we don't know what's legal and what's not. Customs were much more to the point and said it wasn't worth the hassle and the problems which may result from jumpy postmen etc. If you like you can drop them an email and they'll tell you exactly what you can and can't import and have it in writing.
  6. The other day I was going to go to Halfords and get the paint for my lid. However, I've heard their primer isn't exactly great. Can anyone suggest a better red primer that is suitable for use on HDPE and provide a good base Halfords Appliance White?
  7. If you nip over to BSN ( www.bikerscout.net )it will be very clear who the armourers are. I would recommend holding off on the helmet as there is a very good one in the pipeline, as for armour MC is the most accurate at the minute if I remember correctly.
  8. EDIT: John did a much better job of explaining than I did.
  9. Awesome work guys. By the way is that a Phase 1 Bacarra you're with?
  10. Can anyone shed some light on whether the ears were primered and the order these were painted/assembled in? I keep thinking the ears must have been painted when the helmet was fully assembled due to the silohuette left on the helmet but in the photo with the pile of helmets none of the ear screws are white.
  11. It depends what's in the oven cleaner. Problem is I can't remember which ingredient isn't good for plastic, I'm sure someone here will though. As long as you get the right one it doesn't matter how long you leave it for.
  12. John, they look great. Matching up nicely to the TS reference pics, may have to grab some off you soon.
  13. I think I get it now (maybe)... so the HDPE was primed with the red primer. It was then painted white and the red on the inside of the helmet is just where the paint has come off duty to wear and tear leaving the primer. Right? Just thought I'd check as I've seen a replica with the red primer over the white paint on the inside of the helmet. Oh wow I'm making an fool of myself here, a big white plasticky armoured fool.
  14. The feet are the same length apart on both. Recently I've seen them both mounted on the same rail from the Sherman. Got to love standardisation of parts to make life easy 68 years later.
  15. Ok, cheers. Thought it may be but that just seemed too simple.
  16. Ok, I've heard that there is a red oxide mist on the inside of the HDPE TK helmets. I'm sure it's right in front of me but I can't find anything on a search. So I'm just wondering what it is likely to be from?
  17. The stunt helmets were a different shade to the armour so I can't see there being a problem with the helmet and armour differing in shade on your stuff.
  18. My latest scope isn't here yet so I can't check but...is the threading for the hex screws on the real scopes all the same? Or is there variance between the M32, M19 and the two M38s.
  19. Lovely blasters guys. Just completed my E-11 scope set (only one of each so far). Thanks for further inspiration to carry at least one on into a full Sterling conversion.
  20. Thought I'd post my TIE hose connection method over here as it's been getting a good reception. This is version one, I am going to redo it with magnets in the base of the Hovi and the hose as well to hopefully get better pull. These are sskunky's Hovis. I decided to use Rare Earth magnets to attach my hoses to my helmet. This was in part because I was a bit scared to drill a hole in my assembled helmet but also because I wanted to do something different. I really like the Riddell helmet so I got some Hovi tips. I discarded the mesh, then drilled out the nipple and replaced it with a 5mm diameter Rare Earth Magnet. Next I painted them all white before assembling them. This meant I only needed to drill a small hole in my helmet to attach the Hovis as opposed to large ones to poke the hoses through. For the opposite end I cut the ends off two plumbing connectors, glued them to acrylic disks and attached a magnet in the centre. The disks just screw in to the hoses but I have stuck them in with hot glue for the timebeing. And pictures...
  21. Funny you should mention it but the stunt I bought is HDPE, I say 'is' the posties have it now so who knows... Think I might give TM a PM for ABS goodness.
  22. Thanks guys, I'm such a TK noob, normally just here for the blasters and electronics. I only bought my first TK helmet yesterday, and it was a stunt so trying to find a hero to sit next to it. I'm not going SDS as I can get better for less, among other things. Torn between TM and another.
  23. When it comes to a hero helmet what are my choices? I know TM does a killer one but was wondering if anyone else does one too, I don't think I've ever seen another that wasn't a modded stunt. Thanks for any help
  24. I know there's a lot on that site that is out of date but has any of the blaster information actually been superceded?

    ESB E-11

To my knowledge Doopydoos isn't currently casting ESB greeblies and never has. (Yay! Only two 'do's.) I asked way before I found out about Steve and they said that even a resin M19/32 will have to be a special order.
