  1. saint patties day has came and gone though. lol.
  2. i knew i should have spent my time learning klingon as opposed to building a suit haha
  3. i plan to have a comlink on my suit when i finish too. lol. i like it but couldnt tell ya why. your suit looks great man i especially love your helmet
  4. im real sorry to hear about this man. <_< i hope you dont call it quits. i can see how you'd be just on the sidelines though, it's not the cheapest hobby... i just wanted to say good luck and i wish you well. if i see anything that resembles your armor online somewhere i'll let ya know. :fett2: that helmet looks pretty sweet, but if someone tries selling it, it should deff stand out. you did a great job on your suit man. best wishes to ya
  5. wow. very good job one the suit. what kind of helmet is that?
  6. i got an RT-mod, just arrived this past week. it might take a while to get, but deff worth the wait. plus if you have AM armor, the ABS matches perfectly... well at least in doors. my suit isnt complete yet. but yeah i like the RT-mod. i got it assembled for the same reasons. he does a good job, and puts padding in there, fits me quite nicely
  7. wow. and to think i was rather skidish on getting a MR. lol.
  8. im really not fond of sponge bob at all. lol. thus, this is great. lol. i'm so proud of him. day one and already knows good and evil apart.
  9. i actually almost ordered one a while back. didnt realize they were so popularly used. are they prety comfy? do they have decent linings?
  10. i havent glued anything yet, but my biceps and forearms are done (trimming wise). thanks for the pics. i know 100% screen accurate isn't always totally best, comfort value wise. and sure screen accurate would be cool, but not totally what i'm shooting for. but certain details are important. the main thing where my concerns originated from is that curve downward... i think i can get it from here. you guys have been loads of help. but by all means more input wouldn't be bad
  11. thanks terry. no never saw it, but the overlap facing inward is something i knew... thats why i never gave it too much thought about the shins being backwards... gatta say, that's rather annoying there. i can get it to work, with or without a butt joint... but the bends in the abs with that overlap spot. i'd need to do a but joint to give as much slack as i could, wich alright... but then its still a tight fit with a detail or two still a little off. but doable. i'll probably start working on that tomorrow or monday. ok so shin guards aside... im still looking at peoples thoughts about how much im taking off on the back of the thigh... anyone have good visual aids for me? i cant find many good rear thigh pics. best angled pics i can find generally have a blaster holster blocking the view if their that close....
  12. ok this is where my confusion comes from, the overlap faces inward right? so with that... instead of trying to explain it....
  13. What about the amount needed to be trimmed in the back area? Does it seem like maybe too much? Or am I over reacting?
  14. mkay so i've found a good comfy fit for my thigh... though i'm thinking this suit wasnt built for such skrawny troopers. anyways, i'm a lil worried about making my cuts just yet. and excuse the fact i'm in my boxers... snow... wet pants, lounging while fiddling with my armor. lol. so .. yeah. if there's something wrong with it, please tell me and i'll remove the pic all thoughts/comments/critiques or w/e are welcomed
  15. niiiiiice
  16. thanks everyone. comically enough, the left shin accidentally made it to the top corner of the pic that you barely see... but the pic gets a decent point across that i was getting at. good catch man after work I plan to size it a bit more. probably have a friend come over to help. i find that a third hand some times does a world of help. lol. all help is greatly apreciated
  17. yeah thats bout how they are when taped and on me... just hard to get a decent pic that way. that's a shadow, i've not put strips on. i've been debaiting if i want to. i am going ANH, but its an AM suit and it has a good overlap in it and i was going to complete the build before concidering for sure if i want a strip even though the overlap is rotj. but the theigh doesnt look "too big"? that's mainly my worry
  18. ya know they just might... but i'm sure they have other reasons too
  19. ok so i havent trimmed my thigh pieces yet, i think i need to make them a lil tighter, they are a lil loose. though i was initially just lining it up to some lines you can partially see... bend lines and such, anyways thoughts would be great. im thinking an inch or so would be fine, but i'm welcoming all thoughts
  20. sorry... i got a lil bored, one thing let to another... haha. that green beer does something to ya. lol
  21. you talking about that crazy guy who made all but the whole suit out of for sale signs? me and my rommate stumbled onto that one night as i was begining my suit and i gatta say... that was the crapiest thing i've ever seen... lol. it was almost sad enough to be funny. but im unsure. lol. anyways signs make good use but also if anyone wants abs but doesnt have much scrap, i dunno if he's still selling it, but there was someone on here selling good abs sheets 11" x 7".... i got a couple from him. fair/good price plus it matches my armor 100%
  22. couldnt the dot just be like he got it dirty some how? thus wouldnt that just be a form of weathering? or is that dot on all of them in the movie? i'd never noticed it before so i have no clue. lol.
  23. i trimmed some of my return edges off from my kidney and butt plate, but that's just because they stabbed me in the back. other than that i've not trimmed any... good luck with your completion
