Duty Day at the Pacific Outpost
Femtrooper Julie replied to Femtrooper Julie's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
We both had a few tweaks to make after Saturday night, and last night was THE BIG ONE! Waikiki! Last year was fun, but this year I was with matching TK Medical. OMG! It was insane! The Waikiki strip is maybe 2 miles. We parked at a lot on one end, and wanted to make it to an event at the Hyatt Regency at the other. We could not move. We totally stopped traffic. I was totally flash blind! I never expected that much reaction. One thing I learned was after two nights in the platform boots, my feet were raw at the end of the night I like the boost the heels give, but I need to find something more comfortable to wear. TK medical stood the whole time (6 hours-ish in armor). What a trooper! I may have forgot to mention. I got a new FTPT (femtrooper patrol vehicle). It is a 2010 Mustang GT. I can even keep up with the scout troopers in it! -
TK medical has a verg bright green laser, you can really see it! At the clubs last night they had smokd machines, it looked like a beam!

With a lot of help from the local outpost guys and TK Medical, I have reworked my armor! I want to be the best femtrooper I can be! The biggest improvements were reshaping the chest, and then it need painted. We used white appliance paint, and it turned out great! I added molding cover on the edges, and reworked the straps. Also, I finally got rid of the riveted forearms! I know that bothered many guys out there! I have brand new forearms with no rivets! After watching TK Medical's build I learned a lot and had a better idea of how this stuff works! I added drop boxes too. Then with the new paint, my old parts looked a little yellow, so we had to paint them as well. It looks SO much better! Thank you to all who encouraged me and helped with the rebuild! I do have one of the TE glam trooper sets, and after the Halloween weekend I hope to get some help reworking the breast plate to fit me. It has some wonderful detailing and wil look realy nice, but it is about 3" too wide. We plan to cut a two strips out of the sides and put it back together. Will get some more detailed shots soon, but here is how I looked last night in it! Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us If anyone has any extra belt button covers, please let me know, I want to add those details -

I know this is old, but how do you guys work the PTT? Is there a button on the helmet you push? Do you run a wire down to the hand and push it there? Thanks! -

E6000 is great, it has some give and is flexible. You can carefully use a razor and then it will sort of rub off once you get it open. Great start! -

I got to see it in person, that laser is cool! It hit a bldg blocks away! Now I want one too! And the light up scope just makes it cooler! He did not mention that there is a little push button right at the trigger guard. The whole setup is connected to the batteries, so easy replacement! -

Waikiki police seemed to be understanding, just no brandishing or menacing with it. My holster is riveted on, and looks empty without the E-11 -

Thanks Panda! They really tried to taper the thighs, I think they looked pretty good, just too wide on the overlap. So long story, Medic was using a box cutter to cut the seams, and it was working pretty well. Then he slipped, and put it into the top of his thigh! BIG gash! He was a military medic, and had a big first aid kit, he numbed it and put 3 stitches in right here! GEESH! BE CAREFUL guys! After that, he went back to work. He got them apart, and trimmed the front bevel down to 15mm each side, with a 30mm cover strip. It will look MUCH better! -

I am helping out TK medic, he is having login issues. He has concerns on the AM kit. The outpost is mainly Clone trooepr focused, and have not built a TK in a while. When the thinghs and shins were assembled, they just overlapped them, and then wrapped the back with some trimming. So the overlap on the thigh is about 70mm, and the shins are wide too. The plan was to run a 30mm strip down the center to balance the seam, but is this going to look to funny? He was trying to do an expert style build, and really wanted to do it right. The front could be spilt, then glued butt style to a strip after trimming, but it the backs will have to be taken apart to give more room. They used CA glue, and trying to undo the seam with a box cutter is pretty hard! So will this work for expert with a cover strip? Thanks for the advice! -

yep, I am tiny! I wanted to rework some of my issues with the armor noe that I know more. Even though I am not 501st legal, the local outpost was kind enough to take me in and help out! The armor experts there reworked my breast palte, shaping it better for me with their heat gun. Mahalos! I have the TE glam trooper kit, and the breast plate is NICE, but about 3" too wide for me. After all the Halloween prep, they are going to help me slice it and bring it in. Should be nice! -

Get to work trooper! I did not have to shim my armor, but it would seem pretty straightforward...maybe your local garrison can help? -

Femtrooper Duty update 10-9-2010 Still no news on my missing ABD plate, the supply TK says it may make it any day now. I put in my transfer papers for Imperial Pilot duty, but they say I have to wait until that uniform arrives via Intergalatic parcel post before I can start training. So until I start flight training, I am just doing regular TK duty. You guys know the drill, same stuff, different planet. is it just me, or do all these outposts start looking alike after a few months? Last night I was detailed to head over to a local Cantina and check identification. Seems there are some missing droids that Lord Vader is VERY hot to find. No droids showed up, but it certainly was a suspicious crowd! We finally wrapped up the checkpoint and my suqad leader let me get some liquid refreshment! I spent the rest of the night engaged in community relations interviews, my squad leader just likes the public to know we are out there in the community. Somehow, even though I am just 4'11", I guess I stand out in a crowd. This local got a little to friendly. We ended up taking him down for public intoxication later that night! He quickly gave up. Guys do not put up much of a fight when I apprend them. Most go willingly! locals like to take photos of me, it seems they have never seen a trooper missing armor pieces before! This local claimed he was dressed as an "80's porn star!", he looked like a nerfherder to me! Still, some of the nerfherders can be sorta cute. This guy was asking a lot of questions, I started to think he might be a rebel pumping me for info! He kept asking for my digits. All of my imperial access codes are classified, and OPSEC is critical. I refused to give him any numbers! This pair was obviously impersonating Imperial Officers, we apprehended them on the spot! The outpost C/O has been looking all over for the guy on the right. We turned around, and he was gone. If anyone sees Waldo, please let me know, there may be a bonus for his capture. DISCLAIMER: This is a work of pure fiction. I am not an Imperial Stormtrooper, or even a real 501st TK. The story did not happen, it is for entertainment purposes only. The names of the innocent have been changed (however Waldo was not!) -
