  1. dont get the gloves. I bought my kit and ordered the gloves, and they arnt accurate at all. Go to HD and search for black chemical gloves with the ribbed figertips that go over to the top to form a "finger nail". Those are very accurate for $5
  2. Albin Johnson (founder of the 501st) had his leg amputated from knee down. Try contacting him and see how he has his shin armor
  3. I cannot give enough praise to TheRPF, or gbfans. absolutly amazing forums.
  4. I was wondering how I was going to trim my forearms and noticed that I cant tell from the outside where to stop. If I look at the inside of the shell I see the mold line and was wondering if trimming to that line was a good idea Thanks Thomas
  5. did anybody have problems with the decal being too big?? When I was apply my decals the back traps were way too big and had to cut ALOT off
  6. I didnt like the gap in my AP either, you can do what I did: Push down on the ear untill there isnt a gap any more and put a marker point throught the screw hole. Remove the ear and place all the screw in all the holes to keep the face plate and the back/cap together and drill a new hole where you marked with a marker. BE CAREFUL!!!! The plastic inbetween the two holes may snap. It didnt happen to me, but it may happen
  7. stay away from Star Fortress!!!!!! He is a child molestor, who fled the US. If thats not enough, he has ripped people off for years
  8. depending on the size and depth of the scratches you can use Novus #2. As for the filling for the hole. Check out this thread: ----- Post #6 shows the before and after. I dont know if it will fill a hole though
  9. I got a pencil and ran it along the inside edge of the eye thenI used a dremmel with the "wand" attachment, and when I got withing a few cenimeters of the pencil mark. Next I went to lowes and bought some small files (come in a pack for $10-20) and carefully filed to the edge. I then took some sandpaper of various grit and started sanding untill I was happy. After all that was done I went to Walmart and in the Auto section, I boght some 2000grit sandpaper and smoothed out the edges. That worked pretty well for me
  10. many thoughts and prayers for you and your wife.
  11. I was thinking of doing this with my AP, as soon as i get another one, and was wondering do you think it would look as good on ABS armor and bucket? also TK-1422 you said "the only thing I'll add is that as the armor rubs together from trooping, you will scrape through the paint" I bet that if you put some felt on the part that rubs (obviously on the inside) that my help with the scrapping
  12. Im glad to hear that you are doing better. I hope that you continue to improve!!!
  13. I have had AP for almost a year and i love it! As for Fx as the sandy, Ap is beautiful clean, however (and rather ironically), a Sandy is where the AP really shines. As for AP's communication, he is the best I have ever dealt with, even almost a year later he still answers my emails. I really cant speak highly enough of him. He has earned a permanent customer with me.
  14. If you buy AP armor the AB buttons are seperated, so that might work for you.... depending on your size.
  15. I know how you feel, for my armor I eat nothing but hotdogs and Ramin noodles, I will never do that again....... until my next armor lol. I will contact some people and let them know about you. Im not a full member yet so I dont know how much pull I will have, but I'll try.
  16. It might take awhile to gain access to the boards I think it took a month or so until i was granted access. What I did to let everyone know that I was for real was I emailed the CO and all the top members to give me a hand... and a few others I picked at random. Do you already have your armor? If so what type? Thomas
  17. In July Hasbro is releasing a clone trooper helmet/ voice changer approx $29.99 Do you think it could be gutted and use the voice changer in our buckets?
  18. on the AP armor there are little grooves to know where to trim (most people put a blade in the groove and carefully score). My question is when you look at the inside of the armor, the groove is a bump. could you get a dremel and with a sanding bit barely touch the top of the bump on the lowest setting? would that give the same effect with the blade. i have been tring to work on my armor since last Oct. and i dont have steady hands and have been using a blade up against the bump so if the blade slips it will cut the inside instead of the visable side....... thoughts? thanks Thomas
  19. i have been wanting to see this movie for a long time, i cant wait to be able to finally get a copy, and if possible to see it in the theater. Any date on which i will be in armor at midnight at a local store?

  22. man i love AP, also i heard you can get a better guide line from the inside, at least thats what im doing worked out pretty well so far and if my blade slips, it will be where nobody sees
