  1. Last week I was lucky enough to be in Manchester (UK) to pick up a fresh set of RS armor, then head to Edinburgh to troop with the ISG (Imperial Scottish Garrison). Both were amazing experiences that I shall cherish forever, but wouldn't have happened without the incomparable Ryan Barlow - TD/SL 19809 - from the Imperial North Western Squad (UKG), to whom I'm eternally grateful. RS Visit While there, I was introduced to another Paul, who appeared in A New Home as a stormtrooper and has been spotted on film. In his hand is an original screen used helmet. If you ever get a chance to meet him, please do. Humble, friendly, and overall great fellow. Meeting Rob of RS is always a highlight. Also pictured are Ryan & Rob (Catfood) & Rob (RS)

  2. Next up was trooping with the ISG! If you can make it up to Scotland, you really should. Brian & the rest of the ISG folk were simply lovely. So welcoming, I felt like it was my home garrison. Whether it was ensuring I didn't run off on my own, introducing me to real Irn Bru, or helping me in & out with a new TK, every member of the ISG was simply brilliant. They truly embody the spirit of "troopers helping troopers" and what the 501st is about. My most sincere thanks go out to the members of the ISG, who made for me a very special troop. A extra special thanks go out to Brian & Lynn for all they did that weekend. Truly, if the opportunity presents itself again, I'd troop with the ISG in a heartbeat - they're the best! Oh yeah, more photos! Me & Ryan, who was so gracious his time and went above & beyond in making this all possible. I owe you a solid, brother! Me & Brian, the ISG GCO They have arguably one of the best Chewbaccas, and I was geeking out :)

  7. Hello all! I started a thread on the TK Pre-approval page just to get a general feel for what I need to do for my SDS Hero armor. I also started something on a Garrison page (Capitol City Garrison, Canada). I kind of messed it up, because I thought I was in their region, but I will actually be in the Canadian Garrison. Many people started asking me questions and giving me helpful comments about the SDS armour on the Pre-approval post. I started posting pics in those spots, and realized they weren't the place to do it. Since I am fairly new to this, I didn't realize there were actual build threads on the forums. Doh! Soooooo, long story short, I think I am supposed to post my mods and updates here. Here is the link to the pre-approval thread: www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/47286-helotech-requesting-pre-approval-sds/ |Just some initial pics: First cuts to the armor. Eeeek! It's mentally challenging to take a blade to pristine armor. Addressing the too long covering strips on the thigh armor. I will be taking the little cut off pieces and glue them on the inside of the armour at the same spot. I will then fill in the gap with ABS paste. I have a new thigh ammo pouch on order with ATA to address the rounded top corners of the SDS piece. I also ordered new helmet ear pieces to address (in the future) the 4 ear bumps. With a little work, I can make it to level two at least. Centurion in the distant future. Stay tuned !

  8. Bit hard to see from the one photos, one obvious thing is you can see some black at the top of the boot, this shins may have moved up too high, you can stop this by adding a loop of elastic to the top of the boot and snaps behind the shin, or Velcro works for some. SDS usually has a few issues so I'll give you a couple to check. Thigh cover strip should stop before the bottom ridge, does not continue to the bottom. Thigh ammo strip should only be rounded on the bottom and not on the top, also needs attaching with cap rivets. Shoulder bridges should be glued at the front and not Velcro. Appears you have a Hero helmet so you should have straps on the holster which are attached behind the belt and held by 4 rivets (SDS normally provides black loops on the holster) Belt doesn't look straight. As I say it's a bit hard to tell with one photo so looking forward to seeing the rest soon. Good luck
