I also agree, the embroidered version doesn't seem quite right and should be vinyl. So we need to make sure the image is Non Puffy style ( great technical term) lol Need to include Red and Gray, colours. If puffy is incorrect perhaps exclude it entirely so it must be the flat Rebels style from basic lvl. Can have Chimera logo on, then for higher level, must be vinyl layered maybe, not sticker. Not to forget, this is an accessory so it is optional.4 points

There’s a saying that ”in the end you go back to the beginning”. That is fitting for this build as it most likely will be my last Stormtrooper build. It’s based on the concept drawings by Ralph McQuarrie that started the life of the Stormtrooper. Althoug the design changed this is were it all started. I would like to dedicate this build to Dan (Cableguy). Dan’s love for the OT Stormtrooper are well known and I would hade really liked to have him with me on this one. We built our Stormtroopers (me a Hero and Dan a Stunt) at the same time and somehow got to talking via pm’s and became friends. We were also D.O’s together for a period of time. Anyway…as he loved the OT TK I’m thinking he might have enjoyed sharing this experience in building a Stormtrooper based on the first drawings of what later turned into the iconic Stormtrooper. This one is for you Dan - you are missed3 points

Just comparing with a few other troops. Dark troopers appear flat Live action droid also flat Even officer appears flat Live action officer appears embroidered (thicker appearance) We could also take this approach, flat vinyl or paint L3 for Rebels and if we get a live action we ask for embroidered (dependant on references of course) but yes I agree for basic vinyl, paint or embroidered should all be fine.2 points

Just sent the guy making my pauldron on these photos. turns out he is a GML in the Spanish Garrison and is excited to try and make a more accurate option for the CRL instead of the current photo.2 points

Greetings all, It gives me great pleasure to announce the newest CRL for FISD and the Legion! The Artillery Stormtrooper as seen in the series The Mandalorian today has the green light form the LMO office and is live and ready to use. I would like to thank Honeymustard TK-22540 (Logan Hole) of the Wisconsin Garrison for his epic work and research and assistance is helping us bring this CRL to fruition. A new to Legion and legion first. Congratulations Logan, your hard work has paid off. Costuming:ArtilleryTrooper - Databank (501st.com)1 point

Unfortunately staff do get busy and some things can be missed, I know there are still other CRL's missing items or have incorrect information, there is a process to CRL changes and can take some time especially if other CRL's are being worked on around the same time. If ever this issue arises again either keep plugging away and asking or message the DL directly. Anyone making a pauldron note there are some specific differences with this pauldron and this is the perfect time to address some of these and do some updates so we can get a L3 approvable pauldron photo added to the CRL. Note the closure, no rivets, attached under the pauldron, not curved to a point, a thin edged/sewn strap. ed. Could add velcro to one end so it attaches underneath the pauldron. Anyone looking for a pauldron template you can find one here Note the black areas only have 5 segments not 6 like in the template1 point

I have a buddy that makes layered vinyl stickers. I can send the link if anyone needs. She does mostly automotive stuff, but this should be easy.1 point

I finally cleared the space and sort of set up my crafting table! I was able to do a little bit of work on the leg armor pieces by straightening the edges. I used by 18-inch rule as a straight edge and clamped everything down before using an Exacto knife to do the cutting. The edges are much straighter now, so I can move on to measuring and fitting these pieces!1 point

@gmrhodes13 thanks for finding this. Not really the route I'd like to go, but we'll see1 point

also, i want to point out that adding rhe pauldron was brought up in 2018 by myself as well as adding a dlt19 as accessories. i got very frustrated at that time due to lack of attention ro my requests. i had provided the screen references for both items at that time. i thank everyone for taking the time to help with the additions to the crl at this point in time and hopefully with the revival of Rebels that will happen through Ashoka we can see more of my TK running about. I also agree on using vinyl! Since it is smacked on by the animation studio with color textures, a sticker is like the real world version of that, except from painting it straight on ofc!1 point

+1 on flat. It should totally be layered vinyl. Or even a PVC patch.1 point

I couldnt agree more! I am all for that. I will be pushing this for L3 approval, but also want to have basic approvals in mind in this discussion. Like the references and totally agree about the live action. Something tells me if we get live action we might not see this on the pauldron though.1 point

i have two that i wear with my rebels tk a "standard" size with the chimera patch and a more correctly sized animated style it is about 10% larger and matches the visial reference better i am anning on adding the symbol later Sent from my SM-S918U using Tapatalk1 point

Post it in this thread or send PM to Andrew There is also a grey version with chimera which may need adding. Rebel TK CRL for reference what is required from the image. NOTE this image should really be changed as it is not the non puffy animated version (if someone has a non puffy style) OPTIONAL Level three certification (if applicable): Animated style only may be worn, not puffy ANH style pauldrons. Non puffy While updating the CRL should add red to the optional colors1 point

Looks pretty straight forward and would be added as an accessory to the current Rebels TK CRL. If they carry a different weapon to standard Rebels TK's then that would form part of wearing the pauldron. If someone has made one of these then we will need a photo to be used in the CRL. Just look at the pauldron images in other CRL's and that's the type of photo we will require.1 point

So….were we at? Helmet I’m going with this version of the helmet: Bought a file from etsy and a friend is printing it for me, he has a smaler printer so it’s going to be in 4 main pieces (bummer). It’s pretty good but I can see a few areas were I will try to make some changes, if you don’t see it you will have to wait untill the helmet arrives Armor Armor is going to be ordered from Imperial Surplus when they get back up and running. As far as I know they are the only ones providing the Concept Armor. Soft goods: Grey 2 piece undersuit came today and it might be a little too light of a shade but I will see if I’ll dye it darker when the grey elastic is in hand (so they match). Still looking on a few options for the gloves. Not sure if I’ll try to source/make a grey neckseal or just go with a grey balaclava (already have that in hand for my Fett). Boots I’m going with this for boots and plan on painting the soles grey:1 point

I am happy to report that all armor pieces survived my move! I packed everything diligently and carefully, but there was always that tiny bit of ever-present anxiety, so it was certainly nice to take everything out of the box again! I will begin work on the leg armor this week!1 point

Should really apply in thin coats and build up to what is required, it helps to dry fully. Sanding ABS paste is not a quick process, sanding wet will help our sandpaper last longer (if using wet and dry sandpaper) also wrapping around a small piece of wood helps to sand down high spots. A few ABS paste How To's Wet sanding1 point

We aim to please but also to make sure we involve all our members. Discussion of a new ladies section is no secret and we are making good on bringing this full circle with its own section of the FISD forums. Come and help Teresa make this a new friendly and safe home for all our female TK's and make it your own. This new section is opening soon. More competitions, first off will be a design competition (members only), and a chance to leave a mark on the face of the FISD forums, keep your eyes open for that. There is some revamping going to take place and expansion on areas where technology is improving and times changing. We look forward to adding a section for 3D resin printers, these are becoming very popular with brilliant results and we want those with experience to share their knowledge, files and services right here on FISD. The replica section is also undertaking a minor tweak to include First Order TK's. If you are OCD and love those fine details and magic finds, you will have a place to post your intimate armour details inside and out. It amazes me we still find hidden gems on OT bits and pieces so I look forward to more with the newer generation stuff. Who wants merch!!, we are already working up ideas for this years items, so keep an eye on the forums for interest threads, competitions and more. More CRL work to come, not only are we looking to add more goodies to current CRL's but the entire legion is preparing to move to an updated CRL Platform. This will be a monumental task for every detachment and needs to be totally complete by October when the old platform will no longer be supported by the vendor. The hopes are for new look CRL's with added features to possibly make it easier to create and use all CRL's. New functionality is also on the agenda. The mystery stuff: Are you preparing for the 1500! more to come on that in the future. More staff to continue to expand in every direction we can. I will be looking to add additional staff with skill sets for particular areas we wish to grow, watch this space for updates and plan initiatives where you could make a difference and support your fellow members. More to come but hopefully this whets your appetite for the moment. We are in for a great year on all our platforms! With unquestioned loyalty Andrew Franke TK-11469 (Sly11)1 point
