No. there is really no "too thin". You can take them right off - you can even reshape the cod if need be just so long as it has the same general shape and is proportionate to rest of your armour (unless the rest of your armour has obvious return edges - it would look funny). Also, be sure to sand the return edge right up to 600 or even 1000 grit - this smooth surface will help reduce friction. If you are worried about weakening the edges because of the lack of return edge, you can add some strips of ABS to the backside along the edges. Hope that helps.2 points

I used this elastic. It is very stiff laterally and doesn't pull to the side. https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B002XNQNNK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_R3b4CbCYZJ2EM2 points

Anyone know how to change the title of this build thread? I am not going to build Cardinal since there will never be a CRL. It is a shame, but what can I do? Anyways, I am going to build a TFA FOTK Jakku variant (the one with the big pack, big gun, and vest.) Unfortunately, I am not sure if I will ever get the remainder of my armor from MIMIC. I cannot wait forever so I am going to complete with KBs armor and match the paint when I am done. Starting with the Forearms. These were supplied by KB Props. Going to cut these tonight and glue them together tomorrow.1 point

E6000 should do the job so make sure you apply a thick bead of glue and clamp it for a good 24 hours (48 is better) It looks as though the thighs are still curved where the joints are that may be making gluing the flat strips difficult. You can add reinforcing strips to the lower ridge (rear knee) to make it secure. Trimming the ends of your joining strips should always be done prior to gluing. It just makes it so much easier but I don't think it's a requirement? Some of the original armour strips were squared off.1 point

Yeah, try Andrew's suggestion. You don't want the shoulder bells to be too far from the should bridge. You want them as close as possible. The shoulder elastic will pull a little, but that looks like a lot. You could also try doubling up the elastic (I've never tried it, but it is another option).1 point

So I kept thinking that it was my thought that was causing some occasional bite. But after a troop this past week I realized it is actually my cod that is the cause. How thin of a return edge a return edge is too thin? I'm in an ANOVOS kit if it matters. Sent from my 5054N using Tapatalk1 point

Hey Christian looking good brother. Honestly it's hard to give you any feedback until you have strapping installed to hold areas in place, kind of like looking at a rough draft. Keep up the great work.1 point

Anovos thighs, yep normal . Fill in the gap as mentioned... Or trim the lower edge for mobility and forget the gap exists. Some movie thighs1 point

Yeah that looks good fairly normal for some kits. Listen to Dan he knows a few things, especially when it comes to tube stripes. Sent from my 5054N using Tapatalk1 point

That’s not too bad, Trooper. You could add a little tab of ABS behind the gap if you’re worried about it. Also, just to make life easier for you in the long run, you might benefit from posting all of your questions in your build threads rather than separate ones for each part. If you want to go back and check things later, it’ll be much easier in one place. Keep yo the good work. [emoji1303]1 point

You forgot butter...you need butter (and maybe a pinch of salt). When you are ready to dip, have the cold water running and be aware of hot water dripping from the armor. For my bells, I did 15 sec to start (learning curve). You will quickly get the hang of it. -Good Luck!1 point
