No way.

Or it may be, if by "screenused" you mean left dusting on a tv set for several years.

It is a real promo helmet. I made an offer on an identical one a few years back.

Not screen used, and I am not sure how it relates to th eoriginal helmets if at all but it is a promo helmet.

Let's look at this logically. The thing that you have to consider about this is, you don't even have to look at the helmet to know that it is not an original screen used helmet. If it was it wouldn't be sold on Ebay at a starting bid of £2,200. It would be sold through a reputable prop/auction company like Christies or the Prop Store of London. It would have a letter of authenticity. That is not to say that Ebay has not had true movie props go up for auction on their site. But, they normally have a letter of authenticity and you have to pre-register to be able to bid on it, so they know that you are legitimate and have the money to back it up.

So. my advice to you is "buyer beware".

If any one believes that is a real screen used helmet, then send them my way, I 've got some prime water front property on dagobah........(swamp land) smiley-vault-star-wars-006.gif Mudhole....slimy.... My home this is......

I say ask him where he bought it from, that would be an interesting story.

The helmets they used in the 90s for the Special edition scenes were refurbished ROTJ suits I believe. So it's highly unlikely this is one of those. In terms of promotion, I don't recall seeing LFL promo troopers in 1997 in theatres.

As others have said - nothing to do with the production helmets. This looks like one of the UK promo helmets that IIRC were made in the late 80's early 90's. I seem to recall one going up for auction along with a promo X-Wing (probably the same one you saw Joe)

The giveaways are the 3 part structure with shrunken cap, rounded ears and the faceplate angled too far forward. They actually share a lot of similarities with the serrated neck helmets Ainsworth made some time after ANH

Cheers

Why do people put such outragious price tags on ebay items? I saw a Kenner Darth Vader case with max capacity of figures for $20,000

I have seen that exact same helmet posted on ebay before even had the name John written inside like on this one in particular. Utter BS.
