Question for elite?

can anyone confirm (or deny) that the holster supplied with the fx suit is not acceptable for elite. My hasbro blaster does just fit into it, I realise I have to change the way it fits to the belt but will it be accepted once that is done or should i source another one? I am going for anh elite.

Garreth , I can't say that I've ever looked at the holster that comes with the FX suit , but the ANH Elite standards only have this to say :

 

# Holster is worn on the left

# Holster must be attached to the belt from behind instead with no loops covering the outside of the belt

 

Unless it looks like a total piece of rubbish , and it doesn't comply with the standards , it should be ok . Of course , if you get one of the snazzy holsters you can get from some of the blokes here , you'll probably be happier with it . Remember , you can always upgrade later .

I'm not sure what your FX holster looks like but you just need to cut the loops and attach them behind the belt.

I am only wondering because I have seen threads about get your movie accurate holster etc, got me thinking was this another part of the fx suit to ditch? Ive got what i need to do with fixing, position etc put didnt want to put on a holster that id have to change. its smaller than others i have seen and of quite thick stiff leather (it looks like leather)

Yeah you'll need to ditch it, the FX holster is crap. Also I'm guessing you don't have your hasbro modded which I believe is also a requirement for elite and that won't fit in a righty holster due to the fact that the magazine on the gun makes it impossible to sheath on that side which is why the holster is on the left even though most Stormtroopers in the movie are righties.

Elite only really specifies the mounting. Otherwise if it looks right, flies right as they say in the Air Force (e.g. if it's otherwise 501st approved).

OK, I wonder if i get home and put a couple of pics up maybe you guys can give me your opinion. ill include my half finished hasbro for sizeing. unless of course i get back and the holster is the wrong hand in which case ill throw my hands up and admit. should have bought the fx lite. (shoud have anyway i know)

If you want to use the holster that came with the FX, it is possible to convert it from right-to-left. All you need is to turn it inside-out:

...And do the thingy with the belt straps, of course.

You do not need to change the FX holster to be accepted, though it would look better.

I got accepted with the FX holster, then changed it later to the correct ANH holster style.

My FX holster is hard as a rock. It might as well be plastic.... Does anyone know a good way to soften it up?

here it is, its a bit small isnt it? what do we reckon? im thinking its a rightie, so i could convert it (thanks for that link) but its still a bit small. can anyone put a pic up of their holster with hasbro inside? Is their a standardise sized? otherwise i could see me buying another one that is the same or too big or something like that.
