From Lone Jack MO, my twin brother and I are big fans of what the 501st do and have been wanting to join the 70th Explores Garrison for a while now. We are both over 18 and we also thought that this could be a good way to make friends. We have both been eyeing the Stormtrooper Empire Pro Built Suit (ESB) from rspropmasters from what we know is 501st approved and if there is anyone from the 70th Explores Garrison wants to give us advice or heads up would very appreciated. Doggydoc[Staff] Posted February 22 Report Posted February 22 Welcome Alex, RS propmasters is a great choice for armour. To say an armour is 501st approved however is not possible. Many of our members proudly wear the RS suits as they are very accurate to what was used on screen. Approval however does not solely rely on accuracy. The armour must also be fitted to you properly. For some of us more robust stormtroopers, theRS suit would be a challenge to wear as it fits fairly small compared to others as it was cast from original suits where the actors were 5'10" and about 150 pounds. Ultimately, it will be up to the GML of the 70th explorers garrison if the costume is approved. Glen's link above is a great place to start your journey. Quote

The RS armor is a solid choice, and whilst we cannot say that it is a 501st approved armor, your chances are very high depending on your height and weight! How tall are you and what do you weigh? I'm 182cm tall and weigh around 94kg, and my RS armor fits me perfectly (also helps that you send in your measurements to them when ordering the armor), but for the higher levels of approval such as Expert Infantry and Centurion, I've had to make some adjustments. A friend who is 164cm was too short to be a Stormtrooper and couldn't do a purchase from RS! Quote

RS Prop Masters is a solid choice, but I’d suggest getting in touch with the 70th Explorers Garrison before ordering, since they can help you avoid common approval and fitting issues with the armor. FISD, of course, is here for that as well, and it would be great to see a build thread from the both of you to show your progress and ask questions. On a side note, I grew up in the Kansas City area (Kansas side), so great to see folks from the larger KC area here! I am in Tennessee now (Midsouth Garrison), but perhaps I may run into you both at a troop in the future on one of my visits to KC. Quote
