Hi ALL

I am not practical at all, an accountant who can build a spreadsheet but that’s about it. All new to the cosplay scene but need advice on the best helmet FAN and VOICE AMPLIFIER / CHANGER.

I see TRamp was recommended on most google searches as the best voice amplifier, but I cannot source one at all...even tried to Contact the chap behind TRamp directly but have had no response, ironically he is also the ideal person to provide me with a customised E11 blaster (sounds & light effect).

I am stuck, as I cannot buy the parts and put them together myself, yes I appreciate will end up spending more as a result, but would rather have a great product rather than a half-cocked one. Will just have to tell the wife its Skegness rather than Spain next year..!!

Can anyone out there provide me with the contact details of a company / individual (preferably UK based) that provides the finish articles and where I can buy a Tramp sound amplifier.

Thank you

Hi John.
unfortunately as far as I know, Tramp is no longer taking new orders. Many use the Icomm system @ukswrathsells these and I think he may have fan systems as well.
look at troopacoola for blasters.  I think you can get finished ones from them and fans as well

Hey John, feel free to visit my shop on Etsy. Though I'm currently out of a few coms kits, I should have more in a couple days. Let me know if you have any questions.

Hi John and welcome to the forums.  Another option that I am personally fond of is the TK Talkie. It is a DIY project but from time to time you can order one pre-built.  Does the same as the I-comm adding the classic clicks and pops to your speaking and you can also change it for the costume and modify how it changes your voice.  I use mine on my TK and Tie Pilot and have had my kids use them with pre-recorded audio files for their Jawa's and a Gonk Droid costume.  It's a great kit.

Hello and welcome, I've been using an Aker amp and Icomm static burst unit for years without issue, occasionally you need to replace the Icomm battery (cheaper option update)

There are other amps too which allow you to play background tracks (chatter) while still using the microphone, as well they have wireless headset, I've just invested in one for another project I'm working on, here's one of those

Lots of options, really depends what setup is best for you, price, shipping and of course availability

A personal note: I love my kit from @ukswrath since the sound comes directly from the helmet itself through the HOVI mic tips, and everything fits nicely in the helmet. I never have to fiddle with wires or anything, just put the helmet on and turn it on!
