Greetings from Colorado

Hello,

My name is Dorian, 52 Years old and I live in Colorado. I watched Star Wars when it first arrived in theaters in Germany. Since then I have been a big fan and the original trilogy was a huge part of my life growing up. I will never forget the day my friend and I walk into a comic book store in my hometown and they had a full life size Stormtrooper on display. It was for sale but of course well beyond our lunch money we had available. But from that day on my dream has always been to own my own suit.

Well, only 40 Years later my dream came true.

 

I stumbled upon this website researching how the armor should look like and where to buy it. That's when I realized my first mistake because I bought a full suit from stormtrooperstore.com. The armor didn't fit and didn't quite look right. My plan was to "fix it". The more research I did the more I realized I might as well buy a new kit. So, I order my TK ANH kit from RS Propmasters, watched all the videos (many times) and started working on my suit. 

After many months, I am almost done. I am still waiting on new shoes (keeptrooping.com) and I am on the lookout for a good blaster. Maybe a new neckseal as well.

 

I am happy I landed in this forum.

Looking fantastic, Dorian! Always great to see another Hero build too, as the majority of ANH builds are of stunt type! Glad to hear you found us and are fully utilizing the wealth of knowledge of the community!

We have a pre approval area if you want to post some photos (when you are done) great way to get feedback about fitment and adjustments prior to submission to your GML (Garrison Membership Liaison)

That is actually my plan but I wanted to wait till I have my armor complete to the level I would like it to be. Or could I just submit now and keep working on it?

 

I met a few of you guys, I guess, 2023 at DIA. That's when I started thinking it would be really fun to join you.

I was probably there in 2023! 

You can join the group and forum any time. No need to wait for approval, you can view & post on the armor questions and others.  
You look like you are just about there. If you had questions for the GML on approval, you can ask them in both places.  Get to know your wacky band of misfits you will be joining.

When I click on your link it says „BANNED - No permission“.

Hi Dorian!  When you went to the CMG site, did you sign up first?  When you click on the link that Jim provided there is a link on the top right of that page to do so.  Looks like you will have to join to see any content.  Hope this helps!

All I see is the Banned screen.

When I click on the LOGIN or SIGN UP on the homepage it directs me right back to the Banned screen.

When I first started to try to join a couple months ago it would not let me sign up either. Back then I thought I had to be a member first to join the site.

 

Interestingly, something similar happened to me on this (FISD) site. I had been trying to sign up many times and it would always say "You did not pass the security check (or question)". When I purposely put in a wrong answer it would say ("wrong answer to security question"). Only when I directly posted a question in a forum topic (Shoulder Bell Attachment) I was able to actually submit my request for membership.

 

At some point I submitted a message to the Mountain Garrison via the "contact form" about how to contact the GML. But I did not get a response. I have no idea how these forums work or how they are run but maybe there is a glitch.

What email are you using to sign in? If you have a secondary one, maybe try that. Or email our webmaster.

I just signed up and will go through the topics on what to do next and how to join. 
My shoes arrive tomorrow (and hopefully fit). With that I can complete my suit. 
I am happy to move forward.
