A Garrison friend is builidng Cap Enoch so figured we needed a footsoldier  to keep him company and here we are:)

Started on the Helmet (files are PPC) and shapewise it’s good but the teeth and tubestripes could be better but I guess it’s good enough for basic, we shall see

Mapped out the cracks with a pencil to see what I would like and then the carving started.

Pretty happy were it’s at but can always add more cracks..well…you can also reduce them with a bit more work :P

For the gold I will start with acrylics and see how that looks.

Added some spiderwebb-cracking and a few goldspots and a grey patch. Already know a few sports to add gold to but will let it sit for a few days. Redid the cracks with Montana gold chrome, it dosen’t show a lot of difference in the photos but a lot better live.

Sexy.

Something interesting (well to me) I was watching a cartoon yesterday and it was using the Kintsugi method of glue and gold paint to fix a chess piece, what I did notice was the glue was raised and once painted gold it gave a curved higher appearance, like below

But we can however see that the Kintsugi method of the night troopers is definitely dremeled/gouged/scribed/recessed

Good thing that, the raised method seems more difficult not getting gold were you don’t want it, although making more sence as a repair-method

Added gold and grime (not overdoing it though) to the helmet, pretty happy with it and it made it into a display with Enoch during Summer Comic Con in Stockholm this weekend.
However, this won’t be my main Trooping helmet as I bought Nico files and subsequenty was blessed with @TKModder421’s updated files. Really looking forward getting that printed.

Got my hands on a plastic kit that’s been sitting in a box for years apparantly, seller said it was HSP (headshotprops). There were parts gone missing over the years, basicly all the resin parts and going by info at hand HSP seem to have gone dark. But…that matters not thanks to Troopers that have uploaded 3d files here and on thingiverse. Also, ordered some flexible shoulderstraps from GA (galactic armory), apparently not just offering printed stuff these days. Undersuit will most likely be from keep trooping (KT) haven’t decided if I care about the ribbing (probably end up caring) and just use a regular undersuit. Gloves not sure either, KT or Endor finders (EF). Depends on this and that…anywho….did some rough trimning and couldn’t resist a mock-up with some fabric…quite like it:)

Using the scraps to make some abs-glue. Some acetone and a bottle more often used for dressing and I should have some in a day or two.

Happy building, but remember - don’t try to make ABS sludge in plastic bottles

Got some work done, finished sanding the chest, cod, posterior, knee ammobelt, shoulders (not trimmed to size yet), handplates, backplate and forearms that are trimmed to size.

bpESG3A.jpeg

Cut the slots for the shoulderstraps on the chest and back. Glued the trapezoids and the frame on the backplate using the abs-glue, worked a treat.
JJ1xbdj.jpeg

Also added the hole/indent, just a hole at the moment, also glued some extra plastic behind as it seemed deeper than 1.5mm.
not sure to leave it as is or glue black or white plastic on the inside.

Almost forgot, glued the ad/kidney together and painted the black strip.

Haha building the KB props TFA kit made me fearless about cutting plastic :P The Anovos kit on the other hand was an absolute dream to build.....when it eventually did arrive:D Also, pretty sure I know of atleast one more person that would have no problem cutting up that plastic:icon_bow:

Made a rear zipper-closure and tried a few things on #diaper-trooper:P Shoulders aren’t trimmed to size yet. Aaron of Galactic Armory made quick work on the shoulderbridges so they are already  on the way.

Got the biceps trimmed to size and sanded smooth. Next up was to cut the shoulder bells and I used the biceps to gague the size. Looking at refrences it appears that they sort of overlapp the coverstrips.

Started to allign the ridges and checked were to cut.

Using some scrap as a make shift coverstrip.

And cut, same procedur for the other bell.

eKY5SgL.jpeg
maaaayby cut it a tad short,  I’ll see how it looks when worn. Not a big deal as I was thinking of printing the bells to get the right thickness on the ”walls”….I could build it up with some strips of plastic and abs-paste so I’ll have a think about it first….anyway…parts ready for putting together. Apart from mentioned bells and biceps I trimmed the parts for the TD and painted the tube grey.

Put the TD together and decided to have the end caps removable for no real reason really..put some tape on the ends for a preasure fit. God thing because I think I will cut the pipe a bit shorter.
v9YOssD.jpegGlued on the other parts and after some back and forth decided to use magnets to mount it on the belt. I didn’t take a photo but the inside of the mount got filled with magnets I had on hand and then tried it out. It had a good strong hold but wanted to ad some more stability and minimize the risk of it sliding off.
Decided to use chicago screw post so taped the magnets to the belt and put the TD on and drilled through the belt and into the TD.
Seem to work fine but if it’s not holding up during troops I can just use screws to attach.

1QHgNbi.jpeg

It’s just tape at the moment but I will carefully lift the tape (obviosly remove the posts first)from one end put some glue  on the magnets and posts and then just put the tape with magnets back on the belt. Easy peasy:)
